Well this is REALLY sad... But im gonna have to change my review from 4 years ago. In reality... I have to give them 0ZERO0 stars!!!! I was a long time happy repeat customer of the hungry Farmer on Crosstimbers. In North side... until recently !! I am so beyond extremely disappointed in this restaurant I can't even explain to you ! I have worked in the food service for of my life, and I'm not perfect but I know what good customer service is . We called in our to-go order , and informed the employee that took the order that we were in Spring and it was a 40 minute drive to get to them . We were well aware that the restaurant closed at 9:00 p.m. , which is why we called in our order to make sure it was ready when we got there . It was 8:00 when we called in the order , and it was 8:43 when we pulled up at the restaurant . As we were standing in line to let somebody know we were waiting for our to go order, we heard the cook tell the people in front of us that they were lucky because they ordered the last baked potatoes . When the lady asked us what we would like we let her know that we had to go order that we had called in 45 minutes earlier . She looked at me , then looked at my boyfriend , then looked at the employee behind her and giggled . She then walked around to the Cook line and whispered something to the Cook as she glared at me over the pass bar , and then return to us to inform us that they voided the order because we waited too long to pick it up . When we told her that we had informed her on the phone that we were 40 minutes away , and her exact words were "no problem, we close at 9:00"... she proceeded to tell us that she couldn't do anything about it because they were out of baked potatoes now and we took too long to get our order. When I asked how to contact the owner, she told me that she would not give me the name or number to contact. This all happened the day before yesterday, I tried to call yesterday she said that the owner wasn't there, I tried to call today and I was told the same thing. Assuming that she recognizes my voice, I think this I think this is absolutely unacceptable! I have been coming to this restaurant for a really long time, it's one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. Which is why I'm willing to drive 40 minutes out of my way to get their food. But the lady that served us that night or rather didn't give us service, looked at me like I was disgusting. And the way that she talked to me and my boyfriend as she kept looking between the two of us was extremely unprofessional. I'm a well-known promoter in Houston, and I rarely do bad reviews. I'd rather been known for having upbeat positive inspiring reviews . But seeing is how I was told that she would not give me a way to contact management or the owner , I really feel as I have no choice . I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever been treated this badly in any Houston restaurant. I've been an nro trainer in a restaurant for years , and my boyfriend is the operations manager for a restaurant chain . So I do feel the need to get this out in the open , and hopes that I will get a response from management or the owner . I would really hate for our relationship with hungry farmer to end here . I know I've spent more at this restaurant than that employee's been paid the entire time she's worked there...

Read moreThis is a reminder that for trying a new place to read the reviews. I noticed this place on my way to work and I decided to give it a try for lunch I went in and I ordered three meat dinner. This is a $20 plate of food, I asked for chicken ribs and links. The lady at the counter replied we don’t mix chicken I think no ma’am I don’t want mixed. I would like that to be one of my three meats she said we don’t mix chicken. Not really understanding what she was telling me or I wasn’t understand maybe she wasn’t understanding what I was ordering so a third time I said no ma’am I was just like to have chicken ribs and links again she replied I said we don’t mix chicken it as a whole or half. But this time I just decided to take chicken out of the order I still didn’t understand why but then I looked up at the menu again because this is my first time here and I see that they had four meats listed and I assume those are the meats that they only allow on this dinner I didn’t know this so then I ordered ribs beef and links. I got potato salad and asked for baked beans and $20 later the ribs were hot and cold. When you eat them barbecue you really don’t expect them to warm up the barbecue it should already be hot you would think, but this was hot and cold Like it came out of refrigerator tried to warm it up THE dry and one ruler anytime you get ribs and they have drowned the ribs and a barbecue sauce they trying to hide something however this barbecue sauce has no flavor at all. It was hard to write higher than one because the customer service was bad and then the food was cold not only was the ribs cold, but so was the brisket , so they did a bad job of warming this up potato salad was decent. I’ve tasted this type of potato salad before I think this is more of a bowl potato salad, not something is made in house. The baked beans was simply pork and beans poured out of the can there’s absolutely no barbecue sauce in these baked beans. It’s just pork and beans. I should have known when one of the customers inside the location was asking me if I had tried another location I’m sorry another barbecue place and tell me how much more food you get at the other place versus what I was paying for it really didn’t matter how much food I got, but what did matter to me was that I got tasty food so this was a epic failure is my fault and I caution you to please read the reviews there’s another review to talk about the food being cold and I concur. The food was cold dry flavorful it was not worth $20 very disappointed with hungry, farmers barbecue I tried it, I don’t like it. I’m not a return a repeat customer for them but I hope they do reach their target audience. It’s just not...
