IHOP — Restaurant in Houston

July 2019: I rarely have a good experience, possibly because I just put up with it, and there isn't something closer. From burnt, undercooked or wrong food, horrible manners, or just downright negligence, but today they went below and beyond. I arrived, and the hostess asked if I would like to be seated, she then left as I stood there. She took so long, someone else came over to help me. Just then the original hostess comes over and picks up a menu, and doesn't even greet, but does tell the other hostess she was seating me. As she seats me, she does so without a care. Ignores the open areas and seats me in the back. The chair and table are a mess, I swap the chair with food on it for different one and wipe away the food from the table with the menu myself. After a short while, the girl with my 2 quick eggs meal comes over and asks me if I ordered the meal as she's fumbling her words, ignores me when I tell, yes I did, and proceeds to set the food with patrons at another table whom had obviously just finished their meals. As she pushes their plates aside and sets the food down, I speak up, at which point she picks up the food again and brings it over. With no silverware, I just sit there. Later, after beginning with my food, the patrons next to me have left and just then, the person that picks up the plates comes over and throws a plate into a plastic container half filled with the fluids from the other tables and splashes my hair, face, arms, shirt and food. At that point I stop, ask for the bill, unable to focus from being upset, I pay at my table without thinking, and proceed to walk out. All I can think about at that point was why did I try this place again and that I just wanted to leave, ASAP. As I am walking out, the register attendant proceeds to ask if I have "checks" while giggling with two other attendants. Not, if I have a check or a bill or if I am paying. Hope this helps people. Much improved from my last visit ! There was no bad smell when ypu walk through the door anymore. And the servers were doing a magnificant job at waiting on tables. The whole crew was very nice to the customers and each other. The vibes were really nice early in the morning. There wasnt a bunch of people but it started to get more busy around 7 a.m I got here abput 5:30 a.m and was greeted very nice right when i walked in. I got seated quickly and the workers still had time to sing to a co worker happy birthday which was very nice to see. I have came here in the past and it was always some ratchet , ghetto ,mess going on but not this time. They changed managers or owners because this isnt the same place it use to be. I was expecting to come on my review with some juicy tea about this location but it was very clean inside and everything really was perfect. I ordered the veggie egg white omlete which usually doesnt come out no where near the picture but they actually got a great line cook. The presentation was just like on the menu. Im thankful i stopped by this morning because people need to know its all safe and clear to come here and eat. I swear it wasnt before but i walked through the door and didnt smell that stank which already was a major sign they changed owners. The workers are happy at this location which is another sign management is doing an amazing job. Yall need to come check them out and give them a try again if you tried in the past. They recently reopened this restaurant and I decided to try the 2+2+2. The food was good, prepared the way I ordered. Service was good but make sure you are given the right check, I was being overcharged, I'm just saying. Could have been an honest mistake 🤔 From a recent visit on 04-12-2022: The food was not the issue. Good food, prepared the way I ordered. The service, on the other hand, was poor, almost non-existent describes it better. The "server" was too busy, doing God knows what, on her phone to be bothered by checking on the customers at her section. We had to ask one of the helpers to bring other things we needed, only to have ourselves scolded by this person who declared herself to be our server, and ask, her, if we needed anything; who then, promptly dismissed us with our checks towards the end of our meal, leaving us to wait for her to reappear so we could pay "our server" and leave. Not once were we asked if we were satisfied with our food or asked if we needed anything else; and she only came over once, when we got her attention by waving an empty coffee urn to ask her for more coffee. I used to serve tables in my younger days, and just so it cannot be used as an excuse, it was busy, but not so busy that customer service gets thrown out the window, good grief.
