Rude hostess named ying (also co own the place), dirty plates, the lady straight told us, if we got drinks, i cannot give any to my kid. I will strongly reconsider going somewhere else. Edited: Food was well. They refill when low. Marshall, the cleaning guy did great! 2/9/20 Edit: (This Review is now about a year old. I update on occasions when needed to update.) Today, Decided to give another try to see if they have done anything new or different with the restaurant. Primarily, Although you are encouraged to "Serve only what you can eat" All leftover at the end of the night is thrown away. Secondarily, Hearing from a few guest and Previous Employee Due to my review and other guest complaining that they Cannot Share drinks, They now will refuse you refill if caught, A step in the wrong direction. Thirdly, If you are caught or seen taking food without a takeout container approved by the restaurant, Legal action will be placed. Finally, I introduced myself to Mrs.Ying and wanted to learn more about the new policy and what caused them to imply the policies. She primarily didn't like my honest and negative review on her restaurant. She clearly stated that she will not be discussing any store policy with anyone. And politely told me that I should mind my own business. Horrible Restrooms Cleanliness, even one urinal is unusable, instead they put a bag over it. Positives: -Food was decent. -Seated in less than 2 minutes -Employee's were nice and checking up on us Constantly (Will Update...
Read moreHad been here several times but on this day March 16, the family was celebrating an early birthday for my mom. We had roughly 8 people at first and the staff was informed that others would be coming. So we were told that they would split the tab into two tickets..ok fine. Not to make this too long....more people came, in total 5 Seniors, 11 Adults and 5 kids. Staff decided to put everyone on one tab instead of what they originally told us. So we had to go up front and therefore paid individually. They tried to charge us for 1 extra senior and 1 extra adult because the waiters kept writing head count wrong. Too many waiters coming in and out waiting on us instead of just 1 or 2, we had three. They weren't very attentive to us. I had to go find someone for a refill. Food seletion is not that great, especially for the price. If you decide to eat here with a large group pay very close attention to your party keep count yourself of everyone so you don't get overcharged. My sister had to go look at the video to show the manager who was in our group. And he still was wanting to charge extra, I don't think so Satan. And we were in a back room by ourselves. Some workers were back there as well eating on their break. We won't be going back ever!!! Bottom line I stood there while everyone paid for their portion of the tab because my oldest daughter and husband were last to pay that's when things got heated because my baby wasn't going to get stuck paying for extra people we...
Read moreChina Star offers a decent buffet experience that combines familiar flavors with a touch of customization. One standout aspect is the staff's dedication to cleanliness; the place is well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant dining environment.
The buffet itself boasts a variety of typical options, covering the usual favorites you'd expect from a Chinese buffet. From savory stir-fries to flavorful noodle dishes, there's a satisfying range for diverse tastes. However, my only qualm lies in the limited healthy options available. While the classics are well-executed, an expanded selection of lighter, nutrient-rich choices would enhance the overall dining experience.
A unique feature that elevates China Star is the section where you can cook your own food. This adds an interactive element to the dining experience, allowing patrons to customize their dishes to their liking. The DIY aspect not only adds a fun twist but also ensures your meal is prepared just the way you want it.
In summary, China Star is a reliable choice for those seeking a varied buffet experience. The attentive staff and clean surroundings contribute to a positive atmosphere. While the standard buffet fare is well-prepared, a broader array of healthy options would be a welcome addition. The opportunity to cook your own food adds an extra layer of enjoyment, making China Star a solid 10/10 for those who appreciate a mix of tradition and customization in their...
