Against my better judgment, I went to kingwood Bagel. My wife and I went previously and had a disappointing experience. We ordered for eat in and takeout. We watch no less than 5 people who came in after us receive their orders. When I finally had enough, I went to the counter. Total confusion ensued. We finally got the order, but I vowed not to go back. Now, for the most recent visit. I went to the counter and placed the order to go. 15 minutes later, I picked up the order, but again, there was confusion. I ordered 3 bagel sandwiches and 4 bagels. The person said they were out of onion bagels. But they said the sandwich had an onion bagel, but I needed to change the two onion bagels for other bagels, so I did. I reiterated that the one sandwich had onion, and they said yes. I took the order home to find the onion sandwich bagel was missing, plus my receipt was also missing from the bag. This is the last time for me. From what I can tell, there is no real leadership behind the counter, just lots of confusion. So yes, I was ripped off. PS: I should have gone by my instincts after the...
Read moreI have to say, after reading other reviews of these people I expected a lot from Kingwood Bagel, so maybe I was set up for failure. However, bad service is bad service and the same is true with bad food.
The lady at the counter was doing something so I waited. But without even looking at me she grumbled at me to tell her what I wanted. Nonplussed, I proceeded to ask if she had certain kinds of bagels to which I got a really nasty - unfriendly reply. Anyway, I had driven quite a ways to get here from Oakhurst so I purchased 4 bagels. To my surprise they ended up being about 1.25 each. More than I would have paid in my native California. Anyway, when I got home and we started to eat them, we were treated to the smell and taste of rancid oil. Obviously they were not careful in what they put into these bagels and these ended up in the trash along side my wasted $5. .
All in all, we will never go back to this place. Even a supermarket bagel...
Read moreAs much as I love the food here - the bagels, the cinnamon rolls, EVERYthing is good - I cannot get past the fact that EVERY time I try to call to not completely waste my time and see if they’ve run out of something or to place an order ahead of time, the phones never work. Ever. I’ve been going to them for 2 years and I cannot tell you just how many times I’ve gone there to order something after spending 30 minutes trying to call this shop, JUST for them to tell me that it’s out of stock or they stopped making something. It’s almost like after all of this time being in operation, they haven’t been able to catch up to the demands their clients and they never stock things correctly.
The food is phenomenal and the workers are always super sweet, but there are MAJOR issues with operations. Do better. Please. I’m tired of wasting gas and time I could use to go elsewhere that doesn’t have an issue with their phones or not being prepared...
