I love coming to the Library in general because I like to be at a place where I can focus to read, work, study or to participate in activities meant to educate you and help you learn and develop a skill. At Kingwood Library I really enjoy doing all the these things, the cleanliness of the place, the nice setting and the variety of material you can find there makes it a special place. Staff is very professional, one of the ladies that works there is just amazing, she conducts the “Coffee and Coloring” program that I have enjoyed many times for the last 5 years…, I’m very grateful for her and all what the Library offers. The two story building has different rooms for crafts, classes, study and meetings. There’s easy accessibility to the building from the parking lot for people using wheel chairs and there’s also an elevator that will take you to the second floor in short time. This is my favorite Library, I strongly recommend anyone looking for a Library to make it a favorite, to come and...
Read moreLarge library, but parking lot was packed with very few spaces available. Downstairs is mostly for kids, young teens. Elevator and stairs to go up. Upstairs was mostly adults, very quiet. The area had a not fully enclosed computer room, quiet study rooms, communal study desks with lamps and plenty of spots to plug your laptop or charger into at the desks. Chairs were comfortable. There were kiosks around to look up books and other materials. There were high stool seats against the wall, there were couch/chairs toward the back. Everything was clean, orderly, and most importantly quiet with no screaming loud children playing.
I’ve been to several libraries and none had separate spaces like this for children/adults. It was either mixed or a “quiet reading room” that you could hear children playing, and loud talking through the glass. Definitely worth the longer drive from Atascocita to have the upgraded amenities and...
Read moreWhile I enjoy the location of this library, the friendliness/helpfulness of the employees, and the vast array of material/computers available. I must complain about the policies regarding their private study rooms. I understand the need to have a 2 hour limit on the reservations of these rooms, especially when the library is extremely busy. But my complaint is in regards to the employees kicking you out of the room when your 2 hours is up, even when there is no one else needing the room, or when the other rooms are clearly empty and they have no future reservations. If the rooms are not being used by other patrons then why kick out the individuals...
