My Review of Konami (Visited 10/04/2025)
I visited Konami on Saturday, October 4th. The area was nice, and I really appreciated the free parking. When we walked in, the vibe was cool — good R&B music and a nice atmosphere. All the tables inside were full, so we decided to sit outside.
Unfortunately, every table outside was dirty. The host said she’d come back to clean one for us, but she never returned.
For drinks, I ordered the Porn Star Martini, and it actually tasted really good — but it came in a little plastic cup instead of a martini glass, which kind of killed the presentation for me. My friend ordered a tea, but they didn’t have any, so she got a strawberry lemonade instead. She didn’t say much about it, so I’m guessing it was fine.
For food, my friend got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. She tried to substitute the asparagus but was told she couldn’t unless she ordered another side. I ordered the Konami steak (ribeye) which was supposed to come with shrimp-loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus. I didn’t want asparagus either, so I ordered a side of greens, and we added mac and cheese to share.
My friend said her lamb chops were really good and that the sauce went perfectly with the mashed potatoes. My steak and shrimp were flavorful, and the steak was cooked medium just right. The mashed potatoes, though, were disappointing — not “shrimp-loaded” like the menu said, just plain garlic mashed with three shrimp on the side.
They forgot my greens at first and brought them out after I finished eating. I didn’t like them anyway — they tasted like canned Glory greens. The mac and cheese, though, was the star of the night — 10/10! Super cheesy with a nice baked crust on top.
Our total was $125, and they added a 15% service fee. Unfortunately, after we left, both my friend and I started feeling sick and had to cut our night short. The only thing we both ate was the mac and cheese, so I’m guessing that didn’t sit right with us.
Overall, the place has potential — nice vibe, good music, solid steak — but the service, cleanliness, and how the night ended were a big letdown. Rating:...
Read moreMy husband I just visited this place Monday evening hoping to end our Houston trip off with a bang and we were extremely disappointed. The drinks we ordered were okay. But when it came to food I’m giving a solid 2/10. Only because the lamb chops were decent and my husband’s ONE piece of fish that came on his “fish plate “was “okay” . We ordered the shrimp appetizer and those were disgusting and didn’t taste as if they had been seasoned or cooked long at all also as though barbecue sauce were just thrown on them. They didn’t have steak so I tried ordering fried chicken and was told they weren’t frying chicken , why ? I have no idea . So I ordered the lamb chops with Mac and cheese, potatoes & added an extra side of yams . Well the yams never came . And instead of just taking them off they were given in a to go container . My mashed potatoes looked brown & tasted as if they were made with old potatoes I took barely one bite and couldn’t bare to taste more . The Mac and cheese was not made with the advertised shells it looked to me as though maybe they were out and decided to use fettuccine noodles instead which took away from being able to enjoy them. I’m a foodie and I was overall highly disappointed . The server did her job taking care of us but other than that I would never go back...
Read moreCame with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. When we walked in, no one greeted us and we stood at the front for a couple minutes before just sitting ourselves. We ordered a mimosa tower which took forever to come out. My friend ordered the wings platter & I ordered the 6 piece wings and a side of Mac and cheese. It took forever to bring out our food. They brought my friends food out but told me they were still working on the Mac n cheese. After about 20mins of waiting after my friend was basically done eating I asked if they can just bring my wings out since I know they are ready and just sitting back there. I ordered garlic parm flavored which they were not. It tasted like regular salt and pepper seasoning. My Mac and cheese finally came out and I won’t lie, it was good! The Mac and cheese bumped my review from 2 to 3 stars. The service was just really bad and there was barely anyone in there. Waitress was nice though. I wouldn’t trust the 5 star reviews because they told people if they left a 5 star review they would get...
