Caribbean Jerk Cuisine — Restaurant in Houston

First I ordered the stew chicken meal, I was told I can only get dark meat which don’t care too much for, especially legs. So I asked for two thighs and was told they couldn’t do that because it’s the lunch special. Second these people claiming they give a lot for the lunch special are lying!!! My lunch special came with a reheated piece of leg and tiny piece of thigh. Last but not least I don’t think the people that cook and/or work here are actually Jamaican or even Jamaican descendants. I say this because the stew chicken I received looks and taste more like Haitian stew chicken than Jamaican stew chicken, and from my experience Jamaican stew chicken is usually cut up into smaller pieces, and browned not fried before simmering. Haitian stew chicken is not chopped into smaller pieces, is fried then simmered in sauce, and I have never had Jamaican food where there wasn’t an option for salad, cabbage, or greens even for a lunch special. This restaurant only serves a salad on the side, which is something I’ve only seen done with Haitian food and/or restaurants. Another thing is that I was told the stew chicken would take 45mins, when I came to get it I was told I had to wait a little longer which was fine, as I figured I was getting a fresh order of food. However, when I got to my car I told my daughter to hold it and she wearing shorts sat it on her leg because the plate was lukewarm, how a plate that was supposedly just made lukewarm is beyond me. Overall the food is decent but I will not go back...

Yesterday June the 16th 2024 I experience one of the worst customer service I’ve ever had at this restaurant. I called my Gf on the way home from work to pick myself up an oxtail and chicken combo. Clearly she ordered a plate from the owner son who takes order in the front and we received the wrong order which didn’t come with the chicken. Of course we called back to explain that we had chicken item missing from the order and didn’t receive the greatest response. The owner accused my girlfriend who is a certified C.P.A of not placing the correct order and also saying she looked over the order before receiving the food. We explained that she didn’t see the food until her son packaged the food up and gave it to her. First of I ve a customer for over five years and received not benefits of doubt that her son was wrong. I told them that since I m a paying customer we should have the right to bring up disputes about the wrong order but the owner argued us the whole time which made me to believe that she didn’t have any appreciation for the long service we gave to this restaurant. I’m going to discontinue my food relationship with this establishment and hope that other who experience same problems will stand up and not except rude and nasty customer service. Without customer support these establishments...

So I called in earlier and asked if they had oxtail. The lady informed me that they did and asked if I wanted to place an order but seeing as I was a little ways from there I told her I will call once I got closer. So once I called in my order I get there and only had to wait a few moments before my food was out. Now I've been to plenty of restaurants that serve ox tail and you get a nice size portion but with this one I barely got to bones..... Literally! I had a small chunk the fat another chunk of fat that was attached to a bone and then I had to bones that were mostly fat and no me and a whole container of rice with some cabbage. I was completely upset at this. If they knew that they were out or they only had scraps left then they should've said that and I would've made the decision of whether I wanted to continue to go there or drive across the town to a place that actually gives you the portion that you are paying for. Unfortunately I did not get to make that decision otherwise I would've taken my time and driven across town to the place that I know is not only good but worth it as well. This meal was so not worth it I'm so highly upset and I would never ever recommend this place to anyone! You are should really be ashamed that you even gave somebody this plate...
