This property is so beautiful! I wouldve loved to give it 5 stars but I have some unresolved issues that were never addressed. I've seen this property for a few years and have always wanted to stay but I travel a lot so it just wasn't doable. I recently decided to take some time away from life and give this place a try. Absolutely gorgeous on the inside. Elevators are slow and it takes some time to get upstairs but I didn't mind. Upon checkin, the front desk agent was extremely pleasant. She gave all the necessary information regarding dining, the fitness center and other outlets. Once I got to the room, I noticed the room was extremely clean and well kept. Beautiful decor. I then attempted to contact dining for room service. I called for a very long time and didn't get through. I called the front desk and got the lady that checked me in and asked if they were closed. She said no and reiterated the hours. I called for almost an hr when I decided to call the desk again. This time I got the man at the desk with the dreads. He was very sharp in speech, almost rude and with no empathy. He stated that dining was closed and gave me a completely different set of hours for Operation. I was frustrated but could get over it. I understood. At the same time, the TV in the room wasn't working. They said they would send someone. The maintenance guy came, said he would reset the box from a different location and would be back. He never returned. I call 2 additional times and they said they would send someone and he never came. I resorted to just watching TV on my phone. The next day I called again. The maintenance person came and I explained the situation. He didn't even look at the TV, he said he couldn't do anything and would go look at the signals and come back. I waited hours and he never came back. I called 4 more times and maintenance never came. Finally I expressed my anguish to another associate and she apologized and said she would look into it and called me back herself. I appreciated her taking ownership but...she never called back. I was able to get the regular channels to work by trouble shooting the box but it kept going in and out. I tried streaming services but they were out completely. I called again and asked if the streaming services were down and the agent confirmed that they were not. She said she would have someone look into it. I didn't even waste my time believing that and I'm glad I didn't bc nothing ever happened. Another night looking at TV on my phone. I had breakfast from the dining option and quickly decided that it was over priced for no reason. It came 30min after the deliver time she gave me. However, she did apologize for the wait. The guac was very brown and eggs over cooked. No utensils given. This stay that was supposed to be a relaxing time away was completely stressful and no one even cared. No management reach out or anything given the amount of times I called or anything. The couldn't even communicate accurate information to me or assist with the issues. This could have been a one off experience but I'm reluctant to try it again. Its beautiful but I could go a few blocks away to the Hotel Laura and have a more attentive experience. I just hate to even be...
Read moreThis hotel needs to close several floors while they figure out their issues because they are clearly understaffed and can't handle the number of guests that they have. I have liked the Le Meridiens I have stayed at in other cities and recommended that a co-worker and I book here for a work trip. Houston broke the streak.
One valet was incredibly rude to me during all three of our interactions. My car took much longer than the 10 minutes I was originally told by the front desk both times that I picked it up. Even the response I got when I used the QR code to request it said to expect my car in 30 minutes which is fine but would have been good to know so I could plan accordingly.
The restaurant downstairs served my burger with jalapeños which I had asked them to leave off. They remade it as a charred hockey puck that was inedible. There was one server for the whole restaurant so don't go if you're actually hungry and want to eat that hour.
There was long dark hair in my shower and on the bathroom floor. I mentioned this and the other issues to Jeff, the manager, and he said he would send someone to clean it. He was really nice and apologetic and told me that they use a special lint roller to trap hair. He also said he would inspect it himself once they were done which I didn't think was necessary but he insisted. I guess he ended up not actually doing it because when I returned, my bed was made but there was...long dark hair on the bathroom floor. Funnily enough, my co-worker also had hair in her bathroom and shower.
The roofdeck bar that is supposed to be open until midnight was closed at 9:30 when my co-worker and I went went up. We ended up going down to the restaurant instead thinking it would be easy just to get a drink. Nope! Again, there was only one person who was also bartending. It took quite a while to get our drinks and then we had to request our check multiple times.
The room next to me was deliberately banging and stomping at 3:30am in a repeated pattern, waking me up and it continued for a while. I called down to the front desk for help and when she answered there was no hello, she just immediately said "I'm going to have to put you on hold". I finally went down to the desk and she was checking someone in. She refused to even acknowledge I was there yet took another call and had a whole conversation while the other guest and I were standing there. I didn't expect to jump in front of him while he was being helped but if someone comes down at that hour, there is probably an issue and letting them know you'll be with them as soon as you can would be nice. After a while, I just went back up to my room and had to bang on the wall repeatedly to get the noise to stop.
Do I want to be writing this review at 5am? No, I sure don't because I have to leave for the airport at 7am and I should be asleep. But I'm awake and annoyed so here we are. It is mindblowing how Le Meridien managed to fail on so many levels during a short...
Read moreWhen we checked in, we had to wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator to take us from the first floor to the second floor. I found it ridiculous that a crowd of people carrying heavy bags had to wait for one of three available elevators THAT long. When we finally got to the check-in desk, we were told that breakfast was from 6am-10am and that the roof top was closed due to the weather. We went up to our room and there was a 2-foot window in the corner of the room with a partial view. We went back down to the check-in desk to see if there was a room that had a bigger window. The employee assigned us a different room on a higher floor and reassured us that it would have a bigger window/better view. She also informed us that the middle elevator doesn’t go to the 21st floor because of some glitch. So we had to wait even longer for one of the other two elevators to arrive. We went up and it was the same exact setup, just a higher floor. I was a little confused as to why we were reassigned to another room. I didn't want to go down all the way from the 21st floor and wait ten minutes for an elevator so I thought I'd call the check-in desk from the room phone. The room phone was plugged in but was not on/did not work. I had to call the hotel from my phone to ask whether or not there were rooms that had bigger windows and better views. The employee said that all two queen bedrooms had the same windows and views. We finally settled in and accepted our room. There were stains on the ground. Later that night my brother and I wanted to visit the fitness center. The legends near the elevators on every floor said that the fitness center was on the 23rd floor so we took the elevators up, waiting several minutes for the elevator to arrive. When we got to the 23rd floor, there was nothing. Just an empty room full of random furniture. We later figured out that it was actually on the 2nd floor. We also thought there was a pool because there was a picture of one on google maps– but there isn't one. When we complained that the room phone was not working, the employee sent an electrician to fix it at 10pm. When my brother answered the knocking on our door, the engineer tried to walk in without having permission while my family was laying in bed getting ready to sleep. The next morning when we went down to have breakfast, we found a couple people sitting in the dining area but no food. I thought breakfast was included especially since the employee told us the times when we checked in the day before. She checked our reservation and said breakfast wasn't included and that we would have to pay for breakfast. I paid $50 for valet and had to wait 25 minutes for my car. Despite the appearance of luxury, the experience was inconvenient from start to finish. It felt like more of a scam. The only thing I admired was the décor of the hotel. As a frequent guest of Marriott, this experience has caused me to question whether to keep my upcoming...
