We got a room here for a weekend getaway. Everything seemed nice when we got here. They had valet and check in was real easy, and the front desk lady was very helpful and friendly. We got the elevator to get to our floor and everything seemed fine. Once we got out the elevator and stepped into the hallway it had a weird smell. Mid walk into the hallway they have an H20 little fill up station where they provide plastic water bottles and you fill them up with water. Machine took forever to fill the water bottles up and the water turned out to taste a little funky. We got to our room after what it felt like a million right turnsđ the room was super tiny, we turned on the lights and since the ceiling is not that high, we could feel the heat from the light. So we kept most of the lights off and just opened the curtains. We turned on the tv, the tv only has like 2 good channels, it did have the option to pair your device to it, we tried to pair our device for like a good 30 min and we gave up because we couldnât get it to work. We decided just to go out and explore downtown. We got back around 12 and we just wanted to wind down watch some movies/tv. We called front desk to see if they could help us pair our device to the tv, they did send someone to our room immediately. The guy ended up telling us the tvs didnât have the google chrome thing on them so thatâs why we couldnât pair our devices. He then said that we will have to wait till the morning for someone to come and fix it. We then tried watching regular tv and idk what they guy did to the tv in the room but it donât work anymore for the Chanelâs and it said no signal. We ended up just going to bed, which I am going to give them, the bed was so confortable and pillows were great as well! The only bad part was that we could hear everything from outside like if the window was wide open. The next morning we tried calling for room service because we saw that the tv has an option that said âeat & drinkâ where it shows you the menu from the restaurant below and then it says if we want room service to just click the room service button on the phone. My husband got the phone clicked on the button that said room service and said he was trying to get some room service the lady in the other end asked what the room number was, he gave it, and proceeded to tell him theyâll be sending house keeping up in a min and just hanged up. So I then got the phone pressed room service again and then I told the lady that we were trying to get breakfast send to our room. She then proceeded to say oh you would have to call the restaurant directly in order to get room service and proceeded to hang up. I looked up the phone number on google and tried dialing the number on the hotel phone and it wasnât working, so I just ended up calling on my phone. I told the guy who answered that we were trying to get breakfast sent to our room and he said they werenât doing room service at the moment. Not a big deal we could always just go down and get breakfast. Min later tech guy came and tried to connect the google chrome he said he couldnât because some cable was missing and that he will have to back another time. This was supposed to be a chill weekend getaway and tbh nothing was as expected and it was a bummer. I donât think Iâll ever...
Read moreIf you are wanting a studio type room and are very independent, this is a good place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the little kitchen was perfect. Other than that, do not waste your time here and look up other downtown places. We started by pulling up to valet and having the guy behind the stand not even approach us and instead face deep in his phone. I finally asked the process of check in and called him rude and that perked him up a bit to help. We were then greeted by Taniya and she was very kind and walked us through the check in process. Nelli was also kind and accommodating. Wanted to start by stating my wife and I travel around the county monthly and I have never seen so many staff members with their phones out, and AirPods in. As a previous front desk manager, I cringed every time. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and was told they also did room service. The first morning we pressed the room service button on the phone and was immediately put on hold. 10 minutes go by and we just ended up going down and ate at the restaurant, no big deal. The next day, we called the front desk and Tay answered. She told my wife to call the restaurant for room service and immediately hung up. Tried calling the restaurant and the phone was off, so I called the front desk and she responded âthey probably busy and shut off their phone.â That was pretty much my breaking point because I knew the restaurant was going to be dead like it was the day before. We walk down to the front after I saw there was not one person in the restaurant and I approached the desk asking Tay what the attitude was for and why she was acting like we were bothering her. I admit at this point I was frustrated and decided to match energy instead of being professional. Of course she gets defensive and instead of wasting my time I asked to speak the manager. Now when Trey first approached me, I automatically couldnât take him seriously because this was the same manager that I saw at the desk the night before with AirPods in singing out loud at the desk with his phone having a grand ol time (not even thinking he was management). Sadly, he did not help whatsoever and instead made it worse. He tried challenging me by stating he worked for hotels 10 years (so hard to believe based off his skills) in which I responded âso have I.â I then told him that it would be a great idea to let guests know checking in that the room service button isnât real and they would need the call the restaurant and he responded âI could think of 1,000 things to say to guests at check in.â At that point I had to laugh and walk out because I knew nothing was going to be rectified. He was so focused on the volume of my voice and made it seem I was causing a huge scene, so before I really caused one, I decided to let the review speak for itself and made sure I kept to myself the last 3 days...
Read moreThis was a much needed self retreat!!! I truly enjoyed the penthouse. I have uploaded a video. The Rusk House did a great job with the decor and renovation. It had every essential I needed.
Arrival: Difficult to find, but after circling the block, I was able to find it. If you can find Club Quarters, you've found Rusk House.
Valet: Friendly and efficient.
Check-In: Swift, friendly and informative. Use the "Silver Elevators" not the gold ones.
You will need your room key to access the elevators to go up to guest floors.
Accommodations Glows: Bedding, decor, space, window treatments all great!
Accommodation/Amenities Grows: Refrigerator had a leak, non of the televisions were set up for Chromecast. Maintenance came and they weren't able to figure it out. They told me a manager was coming, however they never did. One thing I don't like is being ignored as a guest. If it can't be fixed just say that, but don't ignore my needs. The stations would cut in and out on the cable channels, which was annoying since I couldn't sync with the televisions. The loft area hadn't been vacuumed nor the linens washed. I conducted my stretching and yoga upstairs. I just showered after. There was hair and crumbs everywhere on the carpet. All in all I was able to still enjoy my stay and I definitely would consider staying again.
It was very quiet on the 17th floor. I had no complaints on noise levels.
Security: I was told I'd have to come down to get my deliveries, however one of my dashers was given permission to come upstairs and he literally wanted me to open the door. Sir drop my bags and move on. I waited because he was giving creep vibes. Nonetheless I was prepared in the event things got out of hand. This is Texas!!!! I would like to make this my annual self retreat lication so hopefully next time the televisions and internet is working.
Dinning: There is a restaurant on site but I didn't order.
Reminder: Please don't ignore your...
