Everything I want from a wine bar. Cozy interior with an incredible natural wine selection. The owner, Steven, is so kind and offered me and my family a handful of wines to try before buying a bottle. The space is so lovely, with different nooks to relax in and couches. I live in California and have been to wine bars in NYC, Portland, and SF, and this is truly one of the best ones I’ve been to. Approachable for people interested in wine, and perfect for people who have some knowledge. Houston, you need to go out here. 🙌

We’ve always loved popping into this wine bar before a dinner out. You just describe the type of wine you like, they give you a few options, and you pick a glass. Amazing wine and ambiance! We came today on Masters Sunday wondering if we were making a mistake and if they even had a TV, ended up having such a fun pure time with Steve the owner and some other patrons watching the golf tournament. This place is a Houston gem. They’re serving food soon!

Light years is my favorite place in Houston and is not your typical wine bar. Not only do they have an exceptional and expansive rotating selection, the guys behind the bar are extremely intuitive in helping you explore different wines based on your taste. They carry natural wines of so many different types and regions as well. In combination with the music and atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to hang out for a date or with friends.

This is a lovely looking place with a cute atmosphere and good wine. Unfortunately the service does not make it worth going to. On my first time here, a friend and I waited for anyone at the bar to say ANYTHING, and eventually just caught a bartender’s attention and explained it was our first time here and asked for advice on what to do. There are no menus, no offers of water, and the bartender vaguely gestured to some women drinking at the end of the bar and said, “Taste some wines and let me know what you want.” That is a non explanation. We saw bottles of wine on the wall so we asked if we could buy one. The bartender opened it for us and gave us glasses, and we proceeded to enjoy our afternoon, subsequently buying two more bottles. Three 30 dollar bottles cost us $145, because there is apparently a $10 uncorking fee for each one! Something never communicated by any bartender. All of the bartenders were not friendly, or helpful, and one even pretended to drop a bottle as I handed it to him, laughing to himself, while I was horrified. Apparently this is a bar that doesn’t want patrons? Because obviously you can buy a bottle and take it home for much cheaper, so why would anyone ever visit? As good as the wine was, we will...

Incredible wine selection! Cool place, outstanding music!

Really poor service, we have to ask for water and menus for food. Server did not even come back to check on us as we order and drink 3 bottles of wine. When we got the check there was a $10.00 cork fee per bottle and that was never mention to us. I feel that the principal of being honest is not applied into this business.

Not sure if we can be back and bring business into a place that is not honest on their own prices.

For the owners Mr. Glanzmann and Mr. Buechner, it needs to improve service and attention to detail! Very important on...

We were privileged to have been one of the first to try out what Light Years has to offer. If last night's offerings were any indication of what's to come ahead, then I can definitely see this place being a regular destination for us.

We had the rose on tap and it was delicious! The ambiance was cool and very conducive to mingling. It was like a house party. The wines they serve are natural and come from all corners of the world.

We tried the butter that they served last night and it was to die for! We love our butter and this was...
