Lola's Taqueria — Restaurant in Houston

First time eating here today, I must admit I was skeptical at first because it was empty in there, but the place was clean. The owner asked me if it was my first time in and that told me she pays attention to her customers, so I stayed and ate there. I must say the food came out quick and was good, not the best. The food is a little over priced, but the serving size is not bad at all. She knows her frequent customers I can tell you that for sure because they were very nice to her when picking up their to go orders and the owner even remembered their common likings cause she offered whatever it is they commonly ask for before they even asked for it. I went around lunch time during the week. It was slow. It was a hot day and the restaurant was warm inside. They had a bunch of fans blowing to help with the heat. I ordered quesadillas with shredded beef, full size. They were generous with the cheese and beef. The plate does not come with rice and beans, nor guacamole. They did not have unsweet tea as an option. I ordered a Dr Pepper. I was given a soda can, so no refills on drinks, I guess. The food was good enough, but the atmosphere and drinks were lacking. 4/05/23: About to try this unexpected spot since next door Pollo Campero was closed. Place was most part empty. Cashier (friendly) told me that they barely have 5 months in since they open. Place is clean and plenty parking outside. Ordering food for me and coworkers. I will updating my rating after we get our food. Price is reasonable.
