Luby's — Restaurant in Houston

Luby's in 2020 is not the same Luby's that Texans grew to trust, live and appreciate in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The quality of the overall product has drastically decreased while the price has skyrocketed. I ordered an extremely basic meal: baked chicken with dressing, blackeye peas, cabbage, jalapeno cornbread and macaroni and cheese. The baked chicken was awful because whoever attempted to apply seasoning, epically failed! Unseasoned meat tastes horrible! The first piece that was placed on to my plate didn't have the majority of skin covering the actual breast so I knew that the meat wasn't seasoned. I asked for the meat to be replaced as I was ordering the sides. The server did so and then placed the meat back on top of the remaining baked chicken to be served! Unbelievable! This wasn't a safe practice to attempt prior to this Pandemic and certainly isn't a safe and healthy practice during the SARS Coronavirus2 | Covid-19 Pandemic! The side dishes were lukewarm at best. SMH. Luby's decided to upgrade the look of the steam table years ago. However, this too was an epic fail because the food is N-E-V-E-R served hot anymore. I knew better but gave the franchise another chance anyway. After tasting the baked chicken, I almost regurgitated at the table. The nice CSR replaced the baked chicken with a freshly prepared piece of chicken fried chicken which was seasoned properly but not cooked as long as it could and should have been. By the time that the chicken fried chicken was brought to the table, my side dishes were cold. Then, the ultimate nastiest was experienced. I bit into the jalepeño cornbread O-N-L-Y to discover that the top portion of the cornbread hasn't "done" and I literally had wet batter in my mouth. I almost regurgitated again. SMH I won't be returning to this location again in my lifetime. The location on NASA Road One does a much better job in food preparation. Perhaps an area manager needs to visit this location to inspect and taste every dish to ensure that recipes are being followed. I was truly disgusted and have been paying the price of eating bad tasting, lukewarm-to- cold and food along with raw and not fully cooked cornbread. Just to know that I ingested partially raw batter is making my stomach feel quirky 12 hours later. SMH What a major waste of money, time and food resources!...

Johnathan, man, what can one say about a waiter that is passionate about what does for a living. Listen, I get it, he has a hard job. I mean, it's a brutal brutal job. This man is always always on point when you are in his section, heck, for that matter, even when you are not in his section he will take care of you with extream gratitude. He always has a great personality and always grateful you have come to " his " Luby's. Heck, I drive past the Luby's in Webster to come to this location. He simply makes a dining experience that much more pleasant. This restaurant is always clean, friendly, and never never break s down their menu as closing time approaches. They close at 8:00 p.m. You walk in at 7:55, the buffet is still standing and they never evee rush you.

The staff is always kind, polite, and attentive to their customer base.

Family atmosphere, you bet. Total family friendly. There are even days when the kids eat free. How many restaurants do that these days?

I'm disabled and stuck in wheelchair so me and my family come to eat dinner together. I'm coming through the line get to the drinks and unable to reach so I turn waiting for my brother assistance and someone comes from behind and moves my try towards cashier so I'm try to talk to this young lady I need a drink she grabs a glass fills with ice and now I have to explain I don't like a lot of ice. She rolls her eyes dumps half and now she grunts and points to soda fountain I explain I would like ice tea so she's rolling her eyes and points to the 2 container of tea. I explain I would like sweet tea so now she's rushing towards cashier I realized I need straw and didn't get my glass of water because of this rude little girl acting like she wants to help but doesn't really. Well I don't want help from people if your gonna stand over popping gum listening to your ear buds and ignoring my needs. There were no managers around and never...
