22 Years ago my husband proposed to me at Maggiano's at Post Oak location. We had our reception dinner her as well. Each year we come back for anniversaries. THIS is our special place.
The atmosphere is amazing, the vibes are chill and calm....I love the low lighting.
I called 2 weeks in advance to have a looong table in the dining room for 25 people (5 of them 5 yrs old and under). We were celebrating ours sons HS graduation.
When we got there at 1:05 the space was not ready yet and the restaurant was relatively empty and the "waiting area" is extremely small. This was off putting but they were extremely kind and did hurry as best they could. We waited less than 10 mins so it was not too big a deal.
We had the great honor of having JAVIER and KEYSHIA as our waitstaff. THEY are hands down a DYNAAMIC DUO. They worked off each other very well. * They allowed me so do a couple of things that allowed for the service time to g a lil better.
*I asked I be the only one with the menu ( we ate family style menu so I made the choices and it cut down on confusion with everyone looking at the menu, I informed all adults could have 1 adult beverage anything else they will pay for, asked to only have water to those that ask for it (Javier asked when he took the drink orders) this allowed for there to be more room on the table. THIS ALL WORKED OUT so perfectly.
JAVIER and KEYSHIA had the salads, appetizer, drinks, entrees and desserts coming at a steady pace. They continuously check in on us and kept the drinks full, bread coming and everyone happy.
JAVIER and KEYSHIA provided us a TON of to go boxes and bags.
The food was amazing: PEACH BELLINI'S are the bomb! Fresh Breads and herb oils, Maggiano Salad with goat cheese, Cesar Salad, Stuffed Mushrooms, Calamari, Mama's Lasagna, Parm Chicken, Shrimp fettuccine and Parm crusted Cod on a bed of angel hair. Followed with a tray of a variety of mini desserts: Tiramisu, Gigi's Butter cake, Apple Crostata and New York Cheese Cake.
The prices were appropriate to the food portions and selections. I would highly recommend going this route for a celebration of any kind. No Set up No hosting No cooking No serving No clean up NO STRESS You actually are able to live in the moment and enjoy your company.
I would work for them in a heartbeat too!
THANK YOU JAVIER and KEYSHIA YOU made our day...
Read moreMy first time here was today (12•21•24) it was not busy at all. I am 9 weeks pregnant and I wanted Italian so my husband and I made the stupid decision to try a new place. We were seated in a front booth right next to the bar. The people working the bar seemed super weird. We obviously didn’t get anything to drink but some white dude back there looked super odd idk his behavior was just weird with this Hispanic lady sitting there and he kept acting like he was borderline on drugs so we were obviously looking and he kept staring at us😂. Our server was fine he didn’t bother us not great taste in food since I asked him what he thought about some appetizers and he suggested they were “really good” and I wanted to puke after the first bite. To each their own obviously though I ordered something super simple since they didn’t have angel hair which is really the only spaghetti I eat. If I’m going to spend $20 on pasta I can make at home for $8 I’m going to be extremely picky obviously so let’s not kid ourselves here I don’t expect anyone to voluntarily spend $100 on lunch that they can’t enjoy at all. Anyways I ordered plain penne pasta and asked for Mariana sauce with meat in it my husband ordered penne with Alfredo. When I received my food there was no meat my pasta was visibly raw it looked like almost the same color as uncooked pasta so that’s cool. I did not receive any meat in my pasta as I had requested either just plain sauce no flavor no spices just basic white people pasta. My husbands pasta was also raw he was going to order the chicken Marsala to go but didn’t want to bring home raw food he wouldn’t have eaten so didn’t even bother. We left a $10 tip on a $78 tab noting that our food was raw. We probably should have just gone to Olive Garden as sad as that is at least our food would have been cooked. They serve overpriced garbage wouldn’t recommend considering they can’t even cook noodles😂. It is worth noting the restaurant was noticeably super quiet and not busy at all so there isn’t justification for how abysmal the quality of the food was. Also I would like to just note that offering tea but not sweet tea is just weird like either offer it or don’t it’s not hard to brew sweet tea especially if you’re such an overpriced place is sugar too expensive...
Read moreWe discovered Maggiano’s Little Italy while staying at the Westin for my husband’s surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The restaurant is conveniently located right there, so we decided to give it a try, heading over around 4 PM.
We were dressed casually in shorts and shirts, unaware that a more formal attire was expected. Despite looking neat, it felt like we were being judged for not being “dressed up” enough. The host seemed a bit off-putting, and we were immediately asked if we wanted to order from the wine menu. We politely declined, but when the waiter came over, he again pushed the wine menu. When we declined a second time, he seemed visibly disgruntled. As a sober, health-conscious family, we don’t drink alcohol. Had there been a non-alcoholic cocktail option, we would have been more than happy to order, but it wasn’t offered.
While the food was phenomenal—the steamed mussels and appetizers were fresh, hot, and delicious—the service was lacking. After our food was served, the waiter did not check back on us for nearly 45 minutes to an hour. We didn’t get any offer for drink refills or even a simple “how’s everything?” Despite it being a quiet time with only a few tables occupied, the service felt dismissive, perhaps because we weren’t going to run up a high tab or because we were casually dressed.
Overall, while the food was outstanding, fresh, and offered some unique combinations, the attitude of the staff left much to be desired. We understand it’s a classy place with linen tablecloths and well-dressed staff, but being part of a mall connected to a hotel and a hospital, there should be some understanding and friendliness towards all guests, regardless of their attire or the size of their order.
We apologize for not knowing the dress code, but I hope the staff can be more welcoming in the future. After all, money is money, no matter how the guest is dressed. Despite this, we do love the food here and would recommend it with the hope that our experience was...
