I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday brunch at Churrascos Steakhouse in Memorial City, Houston, TX with my family of 15. This was my second time experiencing their brunch, and I was just as impressed as the first time.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm and friendly staff. They were very accommodating to our large group, and quickly seated us at a comfortable table.
The brunch buffet was extensive and offered a wide variety of dishes to choose from. There was something for everyone, including classic brunch items like pancakes, waffles, French toast, and bacon, as well as more unique Latin American dishes like tres leches pancakes, empanadas, and grilled salmon.
The food was all delicious and well-prepared. The pancakes were fluffy and buttery, the waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the French toast was perfectly golden brown. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, and the eggs were cooked to order.
I especially enjoyed the Latin American dishes. The tres leches pancakes were light and airy, and the sauce was perfectly sweet and creamy. The empanadas were filled with a savory chicken or beef filling, and the crust was flaky and delicious. The grilled salmon was cooked perfectly and was seasoned with a flavorful spice rub.
In addition to the buffet, Churrascos also offers a made-to-order omelet station and a carving station with prime rib and beef tenderloin. I ordered an omelet with cheese, onions, and peppers, and it was cooked to perfection. The prime rib and beef tenderloin were also cooked perfectly and were very tender and flavorful.
The service at Churrascos was also excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. He also kept our drinks refilled and checked on us regularly to make sure that we were enjoying our meal.
Overall, I had an excellent Sunday brunch experience at Churrascos Steakhouse in Memorial City, Houston, TX. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Sunday brunch experience.
I am especially grateful to the staff at Churrascos for being so accommodating to our large group. They made sure that we had everything we needed and that we all had a great time. I will definitely be back for another...
Read moreNot worth the money. Our food wasn't cooked as expected (ordered medium and got charred on the outside and raw in the center) which was opposite of what we wanted because I asked the waiter to ask the chef if they can cook my tri-tips like that and if not cook them medium instead. The tri-tips had no favor and chewy... also topped with SOGGY AF French fries which is very much what you wouldn't expect from a fancy restaurant but also the rice was chewy and over-cooked. Wait staff ignored us and they also had the a/c on and it was freezing inside when it was actually cold outside for once. For my special birthday 🎂 dinner (which also was mentioned) I felt ignored 🙁 and very unspecial. Especially since my boyfriend's order was made better then mine and my plate was gross af. Only good take away from the crab fingers which were super tasty and the only item worth the money. Very disappointed first time guests we were and we are never ever coming back. 2 stars for atmosphere only... which has nothing to do with the employees there ... and can't take much off ... had to switch tables twice because the tables had leftover food remnants on them. I very much expected much more from this restaurant... they dont even have mints for guests or toothpicks. The bathroom was filthy... all around a terrible birthday dinner and the worst one in my 34 years. Thanks ::saracastic:: to CHURASSCOS... Which should be changed to Fiascos. Also when we asked for ground pepper they just handled it to us and the shaker was empty but never came back even after we dissembled the shaker to get their attention.... but as I mentioned the service was horrible and also the food. If they have another location, go there but this place is catered to people who have extra money to spend and don't care about quality or service I suppose. Friday night roughly 8pm-10pm 01/21/2022
what I learned: Do not mention it's your birthday! Apparently that means nothing to them and they judge based on...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner here (Saturday night, around 9pm). I really want to give it 5 stars, but 3 1/2 might be the better rating based on one dish that was a swing and a miss.
Staff- Friendly, attentive, and very punctual. Our server was excellent.
Atmosphere- Comfortable, not too busy or loud.
Menu- Good selection of grilled meats, seafood, and Latin inspired dishes
We ordered the smoked crab claws and the ahi tostada appetizers. Both of these were flat out amazing! Excellent flavor and seasoning. Temp was just right. The complimentary plantain chips and sauces were amazing as well.
The mixed grill came out perfectly cooked, and the portion size was amazing. The chicken and steak were marinated just right, and the shrimp were great as well. Lots of goodies and side dish components that made this entrée worth the 38.00 price tag.
The biggest issue was the Paella...
I am a huge fan of this dish when cooked properly. Hints of saffron, and the balance between smokey, flavorful Spanish Chorizo with shrimp, clams, and seasoning bring this dish to life. However, Churrascos badly missed on this one. For a dish that cost nearly 40.00, we got a small plate sized pan of what tasted like boxed Zattarains Spanish rice, with some salmon, shrimp, crab claws, and ONE quartered piece of chorizo. Absolutely zero Saffron. Not a hint of it. This was not Paella. It was a mediocre small serving of a hodgepodge of rice and fried/grilled seafood. And for high 30's in price, it was terribly overpriced. In comparison, while dining in St. John a few years ago, a large (family sized) pan of paella cost around 40 bucks. And it was spot-on.
Guys, please redo this dish, or remove it from your menu. It's embarrassing.
However, everything else was great, and we will definitely give Churrascos another go at some point. The mixed grill...
