I'll be clear about facts and opinion - they are 2 different things.

Facts: after visiting 5 times, 100% of all employees observed both customer facing and in the back of house are people of color. Fact: We have asked servers every time if they were vegan, and many times told no. (the Vegan restaurant hires non-vegan workers). Fact: This establishment serves food (to go) in single use plastic containers. This establishment serves water (WITHOUT BEING ASKED) in single use plastic cups. Fact: I asked if I could offer feedback to a manager. A manager came out, made a face, and I asked "is it a problem that I'd like to offer feedback?" She replied "yes it is." - she then turned her back and walked away. Fact: I've never been to an establishment where a manager not only tells a customer to their face that it's problematic that they want to offer an opinion, but also that they turn their back and walk away.

*Note: Just in case anyone reads this who wants to know the feedback I wanted to offer, it was that they will both save money and the environment by not automatically bringing all people who sit down a cup of water in a single use plastic cup with a plastic lid and a plastic straw. As vegans, we care about the environment, and brought our own water bottles - since we knew that they use single use plastic cups. The server brought us plastic cups of water anyway. This feedback was not heard.

Opinion: As a NOT person of color, I FEEL that I was treated poorly because of my race. In this place, I was a marginalized person. In this place, I was under-represented. *Note - Please be mindful of how you treat others.. nobody should ever be made to feel this way. Don't otherize. It's not right, and it's certainly not Vegan.

It feels horrible to feel treated poorly based on the color of skin, and I can't prove (nor am I trying to) that this is what happened, but when an establishment only hires people of a certain demographic, it's easy to see how those not included may feel left out.

Opinion: I think this establishment wants to go back to segregation days, which is really sad for a vegan restaurant. Opinion: I think this establishments values hiring people of color over veganism. Opinion: I respect the right of any establishment to choose how they want to do business, and I respect the right of citizens to call out bad behavior and boycott.

My conclusion is that I will share this experience with anyone, and advocate for boycott of this (in my opinion) problematic establishment, and I will call their operations and attitudes racist.

I hope they change, but I doubt they...

I wanted to love this place! It decided to go to on a lunch with my boyfriend and finally use a gift card that was given to me because by my boss since my father passed away.

Whenever I got to the restaurant, I was greeted and welcome and given amazing recommendations on different items and told some high points about the different options!

Everything we ordered came out absolutely amazing! However, it was amazing is towards the end of our service.

And the time to pay, and I gave our sweet waitress at the time, my debit card and the gift card, She said she tried to work on the gift card, but the gift card wasn’t working and came back to the table and explained I can’t pull up any information about it so you can just throw the gift card away. I was confused because I received this gift card from my boss and asked questions on how I can rectify that what can I do and I was given no answer just to throw the card away. I said it’s OK. I’ll call customer service in the back of the card and try to troubleshoot. In the meantime, I went ahead and paid for my bill and the lady for her service. Once she left to get some to go containers for me and my boyfriend, I finished the meal put the things in to go away with Emma calling customer service somewhere between the time the girl came back and her attitude that shifted, she was warm, sweet and nice and when she came back, she was cold, short and rude and then after that, I seen a manager come out and stare at me and my boyfriend in the corner and not really sure what happened and I felt very unwelcome. I felt very profiled and very judged so although the food was amazing I felt extremely uncomfortable and no longer welcomed for unknown reasons.

I will love the opportunity to talk to management and to express how I felt being in that establishment and how the interaction made me feel as a customer So hopefully when someone asked me if I’ve been here and what was my experience it won’t be tainted because of the negative experience I’ve...

I recently made a trip across town to visit , having heard great things about it. I arrived around 4:30 PM, thinking I had plenty of time to enjoy a meal, as most places typically stay open until at least 5:00 PM. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but welcoming.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a slim young g girl at the hostess stand with locs and condescending smile Who immediately asked me and my friend “to go?”, rather than offering a warm welcoming and then explaining what can be offered. I was taken aback; it felt less like a greeting and more like a directive. I wasn’t sure if I should rush to order or if I could take my time if we went to the bar, which left me feeling unsettled.

As a vegetarian, we know how crucial it is to find a place that accommodates dietary preferences, but the rushed atmosphere didn’t help. I hesitated a moment, trying to gather my thoughts and figure out my order while ordering a glass of wine (all of 2-3 mins). After finally deciding to order a glass of wine, I noticed another couple entering, also looking to dine. They were almost turned away but managed to place their order.

Just as I was about to order food myself (IMMEDIATELY RIGHT AFTER THAT COUPLE), the bartender informed me that they had just taken their last order 😒. This felt particularly frustrating, especially when I noticed an employee placing an order moments later. It made me wonder if the rules were applied inconsistently, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall, my experience at was disappointing….owner was standing there for most of this by the way lol. If you're looking for good customer service, this might not be the place for you, especially during off-peak hours. I left feeling quite upset and wouldn’t consider returning.

To the management: I recommend taking a moment to consider how you and your employees communicate with customers. Not everyone is as forgiving as I am, and a little kindness goes a long way. (This is...
