First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston, Museum District Campus — Attraction in Houston

Well, I was a member for 25 years. So I valued this church and contributed to it. However, something has changed. The church often fails to live up to their stated intent to love all members regardless of whether they follow the exact politics of the church. The leadership promotes their own political beliefs rather than encouraging church members in their spiritual journeys and being curious about and learning from the opinions of their church members. Another problem is that this church is not interested in evaluating themselves in a serious way. Despite my efforts to meet with them to discuss serious issues at the church, I have received silence and no response to email requests.

Beware. It will not take two visits to this building and its nice location to realize they are out for glory-building disengagement from you and your money. If you are the "submissive" type who can endure the paternalistic dribble ( not unique to the UU church ) they are offering, you will probably endure Sunday mornings at this Hell Hole. Stay home, go out into the garden in the early morning, look at the sky and nature and forget trying to impress some yayhoo from Uzbekistan or Utah about...

Very inclusive community, welcoming, progressive values, accurately representative of Houston diversity. Excellent choir & music program.
