Decided to pop into Mochinut on 34th to grab some end of the school year treats for my kids and their teacher. Not my first time at a Mochinut location, and I was so excited to have one near home. Food tasted great, but there was one customer service issue. See end of review….
Mochi donuts were just the right amount of chew and sweetness. Mozzarella corn dog was so tasty! My son who insists that he doesn’t like cheese really enjoyed it. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Ube boba was pretty standard and yummy, as always.
Here’s my issue. There are three options for donut quantity: a box of 1, 3, or 6. I ordered two orders of the 3 pack of donuts. One being for my kids, and the other for their teacher. When I picked up at the counter, all donuts were placed in one box rather than two separate boxes. No big deal. I asked the girl working the counter if she could please put the six donuts in two separate boxes, since I had ordered two orders of the 3 pack. Her response was, “you should have told me earlier”, with the most negative tone.
My receipt/ticket showed two separate orders of the 3 pack of mochi donuts. If I wanted the donuts together in one box, I would have ordered one order of the 6 count. Not only that, but customers order at a kiosk rather than with a human so there’s no way I could have told her. Really, she should have just followed the ticket instructions.
✨Again, her putting my order in one box rather than two was no big deal since it’s an easy fix. It was the attitude that is frustrating. ✨
Definitely disappointed in customer service. I am pretty easy to please, but was so shocked at the employee’s attitude. Who knew someone that could look so sweet, would be so fussy. 🥲
✨Still recommend Mochinut✨ because it’s def worth checking out. Maybe she was...
Read moreI constantly find myself returning to Mochinut, having visited many locations, but this one truly stands out for the freshness of the food. First of all, let's talk about these donuts! I've tried the churro, chocolate, and strawberry ones, and they are absolutely delightful.
I've also had the Korean corn dog with cheese inside, which is my favorite. You can get a hot dog or cheese inside, or even do half and half, which I've tried. However, I've discovered that I just love the cheese inside. It's super gooey and crispy, and I love dipping it in mayo or the cheese sauce they offer. Sometimes I mix it up it's delicious!
My daughter loves the brown sugar milk tea with boba – sweet and delicious. I usually get the strawberry green tea with no sugar, and it's still incredibly sweet, with strawberry popping boba that makes every sip more enjoyable.
Everything comes out quickly, and the workers are always super friendly. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, as well as board games, which my daughter and I often play. The convenience of ordering with the screen is fantastic – just a few taps, and your order is in.
The place is always clean, and the bathrooms are fresh and well-maintained. Even the hand soap smells great! Overall, this Mochinut location offers an...
Read moreIn a nutshell, Mochinut lives up to the expectations, particularly for those who have tried similar places in Chinatown. For newcomers, let me break it down: it's like having eight donut holes fused together, topped with irresistible flavorings.
Flavors: Mochinut offers an impressive range that caters to diverse tastes. You'll find classic options like Ube, indulgent choices like Nutella, and refreshing varieties like Matcha.
Boba milk tea: Decent and comes in a unique canned format, which adds a twist to the boba experience. It's a nice touch that sets them apart.
Atmosphere at Mochinut is cozy, inviting, and has a clean vibe, especially since they've recently opened.
If you prefer a quick and easy process, Mochinut has self-ordering kiosks available. This means you can grab your dessert without much fuss. Additionally, it seems like the restaurant is family-run despite being a chain, adding a personal touch to the experience.
In summary, Mochinut meets the standards set by other establishments in Chinatown. If you haven't had it, it's like 8 fused donut holes with flavorful toppings. With a good selection of flavors, decent boba milk tea, a cozy ambiance, and the convenience of self-ordering kiosks.
5/5 would recommend for a...
