I am LIVID! THE only reason I'm not back over there right now is because I'm am charging this fool of an electric car. Which will also get a bad rating. I ordered garlic spicy wings..waited 10 mins. And they actually looked like they had been picked up off the floor and slung in a box. There was sauce and fingerprints all over the box. Completely disgusting in appearance š. The shrimp and chicken egg rolls are completely bland and the peanut sauce had some thing red in it. Whomever packaged my food didn't give a damn! I am very disappointed and disturbed by the presentation...and if yall are closed in 50 mins it will be tossed un eaten in the trash. 22 dollars wasted. I'm trying to figure out how to add this photo..this is ridiculous š¤¬
Update: spoke with the owner this morning, and she offered a refund as well as a 25 dollar gift card, and asked that I edit my review. So far nothing has happened on her end. No refund, no gift card. So no not only was the food subpar, and completely gross. The " owner " just told me a complete lie in order to have me change the review. I followed up this evening, and no one in the store even new what I was talking about. This is a bad business with a owner that lies.
Update 2
The owner has refunded my money, and given me a 25 dollar gift certificate to Sigon Hustle. I'll drop by and see if my experience improves as well as show pix of the presentation of food I can't remove the previous edit as asked to do by the owner. Google app won't allow it I can however update my review.
I went back with the 25 dollar gift certificate and I got the Salmon vermicelli bowl. While I didn't actually care for the vermicelli or the cucumbers, the salmon and sauce were excellent. The salads have to be premade..and a protein is added later. I received my order in exactly 2 minutes which I guess is the point of the place.
I will try some of the other dishes The presentation for this one was much better. Salmon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs much as I would like to give this place a good review, for most of their food. However, everything I pick up a TGTG order, I ask if I may get a vegetarian option and either I end up with a small of plain dry rice, cookies, bread, egg rolls with meat, or at best a half side rice bowl with a small serving of their lifeless veggies & no type of sauce. Mind you, I usually oder at least $20 in additional food due to my experience with my TGTG pick ups. Tonight, I just asked to place meat on the side, in hopes that I get a better chance of a decent meal. Even had a long conversation with the Manger in regards to being vegetarian & finding out he is too. Only to get home to a half size lifeless rice bowl that had to egg rolls with meat!! Good thing, I ordered & paid for tofu spring rolls, side salad, & green tea. Only thing right from my request, was the meat was in a separate container, which I just usually give to the stray š. I would be happy with a little more effort to my vegetarian request being a full size salad. Any other establishments I've picked up from the TGTG app, when I ask if able to accommodate vegetarian, they gladly put together a complete meal. Even, if it's just several sides of vegetables appetizers, pasta, etc. I will say that the meals I have paid full price for, have been good. Which I have been to both locations & even had the Pho & requested tofu. My favorite has been the tofu spring rolls & that yummy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBack in Houston to visit family and decided to try a new place near my AirBNB. My mistake. I honestly donāt know what to say besidesā¦I feel like Iāve been Saigon hustled.
The bread appeared to be a Walmart baguette that had never seen the inside of a toaster. Iām not sure how such terrible bread gets selected as the bread for a banh mi restaurant in Houston when there are bakeries that primarily make French breadā¦for banh mi shops. This alone should disqualify this restaurant from being on the to-eat list of anyone who genuinely enjoys Vietnamese food.
Standard shredded carrot and daikon, a spring of cilantro (I donāt particularly care for cilantro but wasnāt even enough to necessitate removal), a single sliced ring of jalapeƱo, and some type of āghost pateā and other condiments ā the menu claimed there was pate and maybe butter? but I did not find it in either of our sandwiches.
The meat was dry but fine. Not overly fatty or gristly and cooked to a bit of a crisp butā¦dry. Just dry.
I just donāt understand how a restaurant like this makes it to a hard opening in Houston. Are your friends too nice to tell you? I just donāt get it.
The fried pork eggrolls were okay. I guess. I was mostly just bummed I spent $40 on whatever that was. I wish I could say that maybe I just went on an āoff night,ā but that just doesnāt seem to be the case. Get better or get...
