Small cozy and comfortable neighborhood vibe On the morning that I visited Nana's, it was near 11am on a spring Saturday. The dining area was partially filled with sit down diners but soon got busy with a steady stream of patrons ordering tacos from their steam counter. They do have a menus and tables for those who want to sit down. The booths and tables are more for small groups than large parties. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the clientele represented a wide range of ages and cultures from Gucci shirt wearing soccer moms to tias taking about graduation gifts for la ninas.

I ordered a chilquiles plate instead of the tacos that seem to be their specialty. I got a plate full of near perfect chilquiles. The tortillas were soft but still crispy and Verde chili sauce was slight spicy but perfectly tart like it should be . Nothing was runny except the over easy eggs as I asked for. The plate was colorful and garnished with a bit of pickled onions and avocado. The red and green salsa in the bottles were good . The red kinda caught me in the back of my throat but wasn't too spicy. The green had a great flavor and was pretty light in spice. They do have the Mexican coke in a bottle along with a fountain drink service. It not in my neighborhood but will worth the stop when passing thru here as I travel about town doing Dad taxi...

Nana’s is the kind of place you wouldn’t expect to find if you were just passing by but once you do, it’s unforgettable. Tucked away like a true hidden gem, it has become our place, my partner and I have been coming here for over two years, and it’s easily our favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston.

There’s a special kind of charm here. From the choices of food to along the ceiling to the vibrant, hand-painted mural in the back, the space feels like home, colorful, relaxed, and filled with heart. The food? Consistently delicious. Every dish feels homemade, with rich flavors that speak to tradition. You can tell the recipes come from a place of love and pride.

What really makes Nana’s special, though, is the atmosphere. Whether it’s a quiet breakfast date or a casual lunch catch-up, we always feel welcome and cared for. It’s the kind of local spot you tell your friends about… but secretly hope stays your little secret. 🙈

If you’re looking for authentic food, kind people, and a place that feels like family, Nana’s is it. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you. This place is...

Food is amazing, but the service is terrible, there were six tables while we were here and this is probably only about a third of their seating so not overly busy by their capacities and not a single table got all their food at the same time. They don’t know who they are serving when they bring the food out. They simply walk out of the kitchen with a plate of food at a time and call out what the item is, we ordered the same thing as another table and we got their order where the eggs were ordered differently than ours and they got our order. They are not the type to complain and simply thought the order was just made wrong and began eating the food before the realization was discovered, not that it should be the customer’s responsibility to keep track of who they are attempting the serve in the first place. If they can figure out their logistics this restaurant has so...

This place has the charm of a great mom-and-pop spot for good food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I went through the drive-thru and ended up waiting about 30 minutes before deciding to go inside to place my order instead. Once inside, the young lady at the front seemed to have a bit of an attitude—maybe she was just having a rough day. We’ve all been there. While waiting, I noticed a mix-up where one customer didn’t receive their order, while another did. It felt like there was little to no structure in how things were being run. The food is on the pricier side, and while the quality is good, the service was disappointing. I won’t be giving this place another chance. Ps. This is not authentic Mexican food. It i more like Taco Bell and Taco tabana had a child - and this place is the result.
