The worst service I have ever received in my 32 years of life. Aug 23, 2024 my family and I stopped in at 2pm for drinks and some food. We were visiting Houston on vacation and went off of reviews online. Food was not available nor was the frozen drinks advertised on their printed menu. The bartender was the most rude woman I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She was so hostile and abrasive that I actually asked her if she was ok. She replied no and explained that it’s really hard for her to only get 10hrs off between shifts. My mom tried my drink and decided to order the same, the bartender rolled her eyes before making the drink. She went on to say that she didn’t like people watching her make drinks. I wasn’t sure what to even make of that statement. We were told that we needed to order at the bar and there was no table service. Perhaps the most ironic part of the whole experience was that it was their first responders appreciation day. They offered a generous discount that is always a privilege and never expected. However, maybe I can give some advise to the bartender who’s job is just too much for her. As a first responder who often misses sleep it’s really important to have good habits when you get home so that your sleep can be as routine as possible, and as far as the horrific pressure of making a cocktail in front of people… well I too feel pressure when family members watch me perform cpr on their deceased loved ones. The best advise I can give is to try and block out your surroundings so that you can really focus on the task at hand. Hope things get better for her so she isn’t such a...
Read moreI don't ever leave reviews, but it is so important to me that people know about my experience with Patterson Park.
We recently had a big community clothing swap party hosted by my sustainable fashion startup, and we had planned it a little last minute. Still, Jeff and his team were able to get us a reservation for ~50 people - they offered us the whole rooftop floor!
Jeff was my go-to contact throughout the whole event planning process, and while we had no idea how this first event was going to go, he was really accommodating and gave us the confidence we needed that everything was going to go well!
Ultimately, we had over 100 people throughout the entire afternoon for our clothing swap. The bouncers, Justin and Mike, and the bartenders/servers we had, Sky and Beven, were the BEST at making sure everyone was taken care of, and Jeff always checked in upstairs to make sure we were doing fantastic.
Overall, I totally want to host more events for Houston at Patterson Park. The bar and the staff truly represent what it means to have a fun, down-to-earth time with awesome people, and so many of our attendees were amazed even though it was their first time for a lot of them.
I really can't thank y'all enough, and I'm gonna keep saying it until you...
Read moreMy group of about 30 people visited as an after work function after party. we arrived at 2pm on the dot and they were open and ready for us. A few notes: FIRST: THIS IS A BAR! It is not a place to bring your children. If you want that, go somewhere else. SECOND: THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT. They have food trucks available. The food truck that was there the evening my group was there was a Lobster Sandwich truck. It was AMAZING!! Lobster and shrimp tater tots!! THIRD: The alcohol selection is limited for being a bar. They had no brandy and the choices of other "name brands" is limited. They have an interesting menu of specialty drinks and because it is the holiday season, they had a menu of Christmas titled drinks. I recommend Mrs Santa Clause Hinding in the Closet $12.00 (something like that). My co-worders went crazy over the very trendy espresso martinis.
The atmosphere is great. They have inside and outside seating. They have several levels to enjoy. The 3rd "floor" is exceptional for views. The inside is broken up into a variety of spaces, this allowed people to split up and have a variety of places to talk etc.
They also give a discount to healthcare workers, first responders and I...
