My wife and I went here for the Sunday brunch. She's been before, but this is my first time.Too much food, but that's a good thing. Plenty of dishes to choose from. The food is set up in different parts of the establishment. Once you walk in, if you go to the left, there is a breakfast station: bacon, sausage, has browns, migas, and a few other items. In that same area is a desert section, an omelet station, and a waffle and pancake section. Upon entering, if you go straight, there is an enchilada section with a spot for chicken tamales. If you walk past the enchilada station, there is a bloody Mary self-serve station. I believe that's an extra charge, but its unlimited. Last, when you walk in, directly to the right is various options of food. There was different types of pasta, fried chicken, French fries, a section with taco fixings, fajitas and their fixings, and something else at the end of the table that I wasn't familiar with. I don't eat pork or beef, so I wasn't interested in whatever type of beef dishes they were. The place has a nice size, so there was plenty of seating. My wife did mention that they can get crowded on certain holidays, but that is expected. There is an extra charge for beverages. They did have drink specials available on their alcoholic drinks. The mimosas were $5 and I believe that the waiter said the unlimited self-serve bloody Mary station was $5. The drink selection is limited for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There are additional selections available next door at their main restaurant. The waiter, Miguel, was very good. He was very attentive and made sure that he checked on us regularly. I also noticed that he did the same for his other guests. I was pleased with the food. Although the food is sitting there, the temperature of the food was satisfactory. The cost of the buffet was 22.99 per person, diet coke was 3.49, and mimosa was 4.99. This is not bad at all for a Sunday brunch when you compare it to other places. Overall, it was a great experience. Glad that I had the opportunity to...
Read more20+ years ago, I would often attend the Cadillac Bar. The ambience was great. The food servers were attentive. There was always a large crowd, so crowded that sometimes you had to squeeze in between customers to try to find a place to stand or sit. This past Saturday, we had our company Christmas dinner party there. I was so disappointed with everything, especially the food servers. When the person who was in charge of the company party started placing food orders, he was told “the kitchen is going to hate you guys”. Which he found rude and set the tone of how the night was going to go. The food was cold. I, personally, had to order my drink several times from different food servers and even remind them. Other co-workers also had difficulties in receiving their order and it seemed the food servers had a bad attitude with us. One co-worker arrived later at around 9:00 and promptly placed an order to enjoy her meal with the rest of us only to be told the kitchen workers are going to be upset. She ordered her meal to go instead. The order wasn’t even placed until the servers were reminded. She couldn’t even get her full order because the kitchen was closed, but we were charged for the full order. We also placed a good order of beverages when asked for our final order and most of those weren’t placed because they were forgotten as well. Since the establishment closes at 10:00, we felt rushed to leave. We had our dinner there last year in the middle dining room and the service was amazing, which is why we chose to do it there again this year. Very unprofessional and extremely...
Read moreThe food here is perfectly fine. It's just regular, average tex-mex. Nothing's great. Nothing's bad. Prices are fine.
The service, however, was atrocious and is the reason I probably won't be back. First of all, the waiter messed up my daughter's order. This happens, of course, but the problem is that he didn't write down the order. It's either arrogance or laziness that prevents some servers from writing down the orders but there is 0 reason not to write it down. Honestly, I put this on the manager for allowing servers to get away with this because there's probably a 50% chance they're going to screw it up.
Then I ordered a mojito. The server told me that he made it himself and it was the worst mojito I've ever had. It was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had. Why on Earth would he be allowed to make drinks himself rather than having the bartender make the drink? What kind of restaurant allows stuff like that to happen? Just have the bartender who, you know, knows how to make drinks, make the drink.
Finally the server wanted to just chit-chat with us throughout the meal. It was so frustrating. It was late. We were hungry. We had just picked up my daughter at the airport. We are not there to chit-chat with the waiter.
It could be all chalked up to 1 bad waiter and 1 bad experience but it's clear that management allows some of this stuff and so it probably goes on with other servers as well. With about 9 million tex-mex places in the greater Houston area,...
