My husband and I often go to the Memorial City and Cinco Ranch location. When I found out there was a new location, we could not resist trying it out. Last night we celebrated my birthday along with our 10 year Anniversary. From the complimentary valet to the check, we had an amazing experience. Our server “Dickie Jones” was very informative, he made all the feature dishes sound absolutely delicious. We normally order the fried asparagus with jumbo crabs for our appetizer but we decided to try the octopus cal slaw, although it was not to our liking, in their defense my husband and I did agree to try something different. As always my husband and I decided to order our favorite dishes the “Famous Pork Chops” and the “sea bass” absolutely delicious as always. Two men in suits came to see how our night was going, the first man in a blue suit literally asked how our night was and before I even had a chance to reply he smiled and walked off. The second man in a gray suit, he was an Asian man very nice he noticed the red roses our server kindly put on our table because of our celebration, which we greatly appreciated, he asked what we were celebrating and he asked how our experience was so far. He took the time to make sure our evening was a memorable one and that it was. I do agree with one of the other reviews, the music was a little louder than other Perry’s restaurants it was hard to hear the server and communicate with my husband through out the night but the music was still great! However I do not like the fact that they have only one restroom upstairs where we were dinning, after eating I like to freshen up and it takes me a little while, I felt that I had to rush in hopes that no one had to wait for me. When they served us the complimentary trio dessert the Vanilla bean crème brûlée and the cheesecake were delicious as always but the chocolate crunch was actually frozen, I could not even force my fork in to it, that was a first with that I always end my night at Perry’s with coffee with my dessert. Although some of my comments in this review was a little negative I still give this restaurant a 5 star, because it was still a magical night, the decor is absolutely amazing, although the music was a little louder, they played memorable hits the night was still very romantic and the service was impeccable. I definitely recommend this location and all the other locations. This location is definitely more upscale, worth the drive! Thank you to the entire staff for making my birthday and anniversary a...
Read moreI’ve honestly been debating on writing this review, but decided it was necessary. My husband and I ate here on 5/14/21. We had an outdoor reservation for 2pm and arrived on time, and we were seated right away. 15 minutes passed, and no one came up to our table. After a few more minutes, I got up and walked to the front desk, told them how long we have been waiting and asked for some water. They told me to go back to my table, and a waitress came a few minutes later, apologizing and saying that there was confusion on who would be serving our table. Overall, it took 20 minutes to get water at our table, and we had a reservation. But it got WORSE. As we were ordering our food, I told the waitress that I was allergic to mushrooms, and requested that none touch the food, including the sides because we were splitting them. She said no problem, and she would let them know. When our food arrived, there were a ton of mushrooms in one of the sides (spaghetti squash primavera). I’m thankful I noticed before I took a bite. We waited for the waitress to come back and told her, and she admitted she forgot to mention my mushroom allergy to the kitchen. She took the food, and came back saying that the chef argued there were no mushrooms in that side, and she had to show him so he believed her. The side was prepped earlier, and he made them get the container out and look in it, and confirmed there were mushrooms in it. Our waitress told us all of this, and said she could give us a different side or a dessert on the house. We chose a dessert, but when the bill came, the dessert was on there. We had to get her attention again and ask her to remove it because she told us it was on the house, which she did. I had just graduated UH and my husband was treating me to a dinner that was supposed to be stress-free, but wasn’t. The food tasted amazing, one of the best steaks I have ever had, but our experience was just bad. If you have food allergies or just don’t want to wait a long time for a wait staff to decide who would serve your reserved table, maybe go...
Read moreLet me start by saying—as always, the meal was delicious and service grand. Our server was impeccably wonderful. The thing that left me unsettled was the ending. Our hostess (the birthday girl) initially reserved a room, but rang to let the restaurant know it was no longer needed because many of her guests canceled—due to the stormy weather. We did not have this room or even a reserved table.
I had been told everyone would pay for their meal—separate checks. The (or one of) general managers (Arthur S) basically refused to do separate checks. There were 10 of us, including 3 couples, so there would have been 7 separate checks. That’s not over the top, in my opinion. The hostess of our group had left a credit card deposit when she ordered a reserved room, at which time the group was bigger. His condescending, dismissive attitude was essentially rude, and what I consider poor customer service.
Fast forward, I believe it was easier to split the check versus telling me all the reasons why it couldn’t be done. He spent more time crafting reasons than it would have took to honor the request. I’ve never left Perry’s feeling upset. My biggest reason for wanting my check is because I wanted to pay for my food, as was planned and more importantly I wanted to tip our server over and beyond because her service went over and beyond. I regret not going by the bank for cash, because it was raining, so I could hand her money.
Customer service is the foundation of a business and I appreciate good service. It’s so rare these days, I really, truly appreciate good service. In fact, I thrive when it is provided. In closing, sometimes it is worth it to at least try and not work so hard to be right. Refund the deposit on the initial order/transaction and take separate checks. Bottom line is the bill be paid and customer leave feeling they can’t wait to return —and in my case it will likely not be in a group or pay...
