Honestly, it was a complete disaster. From the moment we pulled up, it was a mess— perhaps the hotel/restaurant is too new, but this experience was nothing better than a 2-star hotel restaurant experience. When we arrived at valet, no one was there. We waited for a couple minutes then my client hopped out of the car to find the valet. Even with restaurant validation, parking is $9 or up to $25. Ridiculous really when we’re not even in downtown. Beyond that, there’s no signage as to where the restaurant is, so we wandered around until we found the unmarked restaurant. It’s small and nondescript, although many of the finishes were nice. The server who greeted us was never seen again, and finally a bartender or manager (we have no idea who it was) came to take our drink order. I inquired if the cocktail was sweet, to which they said no. When the cocktail arrived, it was the sweetest cocktail ever— think a melted strawberry daiquiri. A third server then arrived and made a few suggestions. We ordered the bread service with radish and butter and the escargot. Twenty minutes later, the escargot and a salmon dip arrived, but no bread. When we inquired about the bread, the server looked downright puzzled. He then came back with two random pieces of toast. We were so confused so we asked if this was the sourdough service from the menu. The server then goes… YEAH… so I said well then where is the butter and radish? He just turned and left. At that point we were so over it and decided to go to one of the better establishments in the area. The random manager/bartender then shows back up and asks if we wanted to order entrees to which we decided to throw in the towel and leave, so we asked for the check. I was signing the tab when low and behold, the bread and butter arrived. Too late! We went back to get the car and it was still parked exactly where I left it— the valet Juston had never moved it. His system was down for paying, so he left and went to get a new ticket for me, and was gone another 10 minutes. Honestly, I’m shocked this was such a mess. With the Bludorn name and such a nice hotel, it was so disappointing to have such a painful experience. I would suggest waiting a while to visit until they work their...
Read more8.22.25 Updated Review - Came back for dinner with friends and to try the full breadth of the menu. The service was wonderful and super attentive throughout our meal and the ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and romantic. It was restaurant week but we opted to order off the regular menu. Everything we ate was really amazing but the standouts to me were the tomato risotto and the pork chop. The risotto was truly special and the tomatoes were really able to shine. I am already looking forward to coming back and seeing what the fall menu updates will bring.
2.26.25 - I was hyped to try this new restaurant inside Hotel Saint Augustine. The location in the middle of Montrose is great but the parking situation was less than ideal. I left my car with the valet upon arrival and had my ticket validated when I left the restaurant so I was surprised when the valet told me it would be almost $10. Apparently without validation the valet fee is $27! Note to self, never worth it to drive, always take an uber to Perseid or the Saint Augustine Lounge.
For dinner, there was a preset menu because I was at a private dinner but I had the Caesar salad and the gnocchi. I am not a huge fan of a Caesar salad, but this one is very well done and my dinner companion who LOVES a Caesar was absolutely delighted by theirs. The gnocchi was pan fried and larger than the typical gnocchi size but I thought the flavors were great and I really enjoyed it.
The restaurant itself was beautiful and I am looking forward to coming back and trying...
Read moreI arrived just as the sky softened into that tender evening blue, the walkway glowing like it’s whispering, this is going to be special. The lantern-lit path guided me toward a modern glass-and-wood retreat—an understated promise that yes, you are about to be spoiled.
Inside, I found myself at Perseid, where the air itself felt seasoned with quiet elegance and the soft clink of glassware. A flicker of candlelight on my table, menus that read like poetry, and a hum of conversation that said we know good food when we see it.
Then, the bread arrived—rustic slice, served alongside a cloud of butter so silky you nearly gasped. Next came the starters, a vision in puff pastry and herbs, layered so thoughtfully you almost didn’t want to disturb the art…Escargot en Vol au Vent
And then—the main event. A perfectly seared red snapper, jeweled with fennel and corn, perched gracefully on a golden bed of purée. Each bite felt like a little standing ovation in your mouth. You could swear you heard someone at a neighboring table murmur, “Now that’s how it’s done.”
The night ended as it began—soft lights, laughter, a satisfied sigh. I didn’t just have dinner. I had a chapter, darling. A Eleanor-approved chapter of taste, beauty, and the kind of evening that lingers in your memory long after the last sip of wine. 10/10—some nights are a meal, but this… this...
