Phat Ky Restaurant — Restaurant in Houston

Watch out, they cheated on your money!!!!!! I went there on April 19, 2014 and ordered To-Go. The total amount printed on the receipt is $91, so I paid the full amount by credit card and paid them addtional $5 bucks in cash for thanking them helping me to pack my food. This week I received the credit card company's statement, and I found the total charge from this restaurant on that day is $99! I am so surprised that even I signed for $ 91, someone was still charging my credit card $99. I remember clearly I signed and agreed to pay $91 and gave them 5$ cash as the tips for To-Go order.

One more thing made me feel bad. I ordered totally 8 dishes, when they handed over my ordered food, I wanted to open and check inside the plastics bags to ensure all my ordered items were there. The old gentleman at the front told me "No need to do that since I knew all ordered items are already packed inside, you should trust me.". Since this was the first time I dealt with this retaurant, I pursuaded myself to check it when I stepped out to the parking lot and then opened my car's trunk. I was counting the food plates one by one, about 1 minute later all of sudden a young boy run from the inside of Phat Ky to me, "Sir, here is your ordered Fried Oyster"! I looked at him, and looked over his shoulers at the glass windows of the restaurant, someone inside was also looking at me.

I will never go...

We have been a loyal customer since the day it has been open:-)! The food is absolutely delicious especially the fresh Steam fish :-)! The oyster is decent-sized we always order its fried and fried calamari which is pretty big plate:-)! I do recommend to get a jacket or a sweater there because it's freaking cold inside especially in the restroom it is like walking inside the freezer:-(! The service is fast and the waitresses is friendly:-)! If you order sodas they give you fresh bottle soda and if you cannot finish it you can take the drink along with you:-)! You can get unlimited white rice to eat :-)! I recommend to eat the scallops with snow pea and Chinese mushroom platter and the cubes steak is so tender and delicious plate:-)! Our families loves going to eat at this place :-)! And you also get to have two TVs with different channel on it you can watch while you eating your dinner :-) When you come to the entrance of the door you can see these big huge cute looking fish swimming around in the fish tank:-)! You could have large parties meeting or Weddings held there or just large friends or families gatherings:-)! I hope that you all enjoy your dinner like we...

Edit 2: came here again, there is a strong sewage smell in the restaurant indicative of sewer issues, please get it together, I really like phat ky but this is sad. Tried to order a cup of hot and sour soup and was told I need to order an entire family size bowl. I'm sorry but wtaf? Okay so you can order cups of soup at basically every Asian restaurant I've been to, weird.. so the soup is still good right? Meh? Not really, the taste is off; not the hot and sour I've been getting here for the past 25 years.

Got the Kung Pao delight, it was fairly good, a third of my plate was covered in fried rice (not really very good)

Edit: recent changes have made this restaurant unrecognizable to what it used to be. Should have renamed it too lol. I'm not super thrilled about the new extremely small menu :(

Old: I love this restaurant, great selection of delicious asian dishes at a reasonable price. Be sure to check out the Kung Pao delight for lunch. They use fresh won ton crisps and the food is always fresh and made right away.

The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is presentable.
