Edited review - late Jan 2021: So after trying the triple szechuan fried rice and loving it, went here again to try other indo-chinese preparations and I was super disappointed. We tried veg hakka noodles, chilli chicken gravy and chicken lollipop. The noodles and chilli chicken were terrible, the noodles smelled of oil and tasted off, and the chilli chicken tasted like nothing, there was no flavor at all. The lollipop were oily but tasted good, 5 for $10, but the szechuan chutney/sauce with it was not good at all. Wouldn't recommend the hakka noodles and chilli chicken gravy at all!
Edited review - early Jan 2021: I have been here multiple times in the past few months and they definitely have consistent taste and flavor! The chatpata chicken is a must try! It has the classic dhaba style taste! I would also recommend the indo-chinese preparations, just tell them to make it extra spicy to get that Mumbai street food taste. I tried the triple schezwan rice, and that was exactly like Mumbai indo-chinese street food!
Nov 2020: We had been here on a weekend for dinner. The place was very crowded and COVID-19 precautions were not really being followed. There were huge groups of people in shared spaces going around without masks. I would not recommend this place for the vibe or ambiance. But the food is amazing! I will definitely recommend the chicken chatpata which is proper Indian dhaba style preparations. The chicken kolhapuri is also delicious, but not really kolhapuri preparation that you would get in India, but very tasty! Naans were fresh, but wasn't impressed with the garlic naan because it had a lot of either burnt or raw garlic, nothing in between. The frozen naans from stores are better. Peshawari chicken was a little on the creamy and nutty side and not spicy at all, which is how it should be is what they said. Overall take food to go but wouldn't recommend...

This gem of an Indian restaurant is the place to be if you're seeking bona fide Indian flavors right in the heart of Houston. The star of our visit to Nukkad Dhaba was, without a doubt, the Bombay-style Butter Chicken. A traditional dish from the Indian subcontinent, it was exquisitely prepared with a creamy, velvety sauce enveloping tender chicken pieces. The depth of flavor was mind-boggling, managing to capture the distinct taste of Bombay cuisine in every bite. This was simply the best Butter Chicken I've tasted on this side of the Atlantic. The Chapata Chicken was another revelation - a perfect symphony of spices that speaks volumes about the mastery of the chef. The combination of spices was balanced to a tee, resulting in a dish that was both exciting and satisfying, brimming with the essence of Indian culinary tradition.
