My spouse and I have eaten here 3 times since moving to Houston. We have had it delivered even with Uber to see how they portioned the food and how they treat this customer grp.
I can 100% tell you this is your new favorite Pho place. We both ordered "P1. Pho Special (Pho Dac Biet)" and it instantly became our default. The meat portions are always respectable, the broth is delicious (I want to just drink this...I am not weird..), the basil's healthy, limes fresh, the veg crunchy and tasty, and I have never finished this bowl and wondered why I didn't have more noodles or worry about them being over or undercooked. It is always perfect!
The atmosphere is relaxed and the lady at the counter is nice. A real entrepreneur too with her upsales! She isn't pushy so don't be afraid to say no, but the homemade bread was a good dessert later on when food settled.
I love I can eat outside enjoying the nightlife or inside for the ac and music. They keep everything clean, but it is BUSY! For good reason, it's good food. So don't be turned off by some tables not cleared yet. They are pretty quick at it I've noticed while waiting for food.
100% would and have recommend to friends and would bring the family here for healthy good food. Great date location for something...
Read moreWe went to Pho 54 around 3pm on a Sunday. The place was pretty small and wasn't very decorated and standard, so the initial vibes were a bit off. The Pho Tai (pho with steak) was honestly pretty good, (broth was sweet and noodles were well-cooked) but the meat tasted dry and some might say "preserved." The service was standard, nothing out of the ordinary, instead of a greeting were were just asked, "how many?" The waitress quickly gave us water quickly menus, she also took our order quickly. Also, the bowls were HUGE. We all ordered smalls of meatless pho, Pho Nam, and the create your own pho with fatty brisket and couldn't even finish it (which is never a bad thing...) We were pleasantly surprised they had an option for 'create your own pho', and most excited for it, and the fatty brisket we got with it was delicious. Overall, you get a lot of pho for a decent price, around $15 per person. This place is worth visiting at least once just for the...
Read moreI like this place. Great beef noodles and pho. However, they need to stop charging gratuity tips for 6 people or more. I find that some Chinese restaurants are starting to enforce this bad practice, so I stopped eating those places less often. We have 4 kids and to charge us more doing nothing more than bringing out food. No topping water unless called upon. To charge tips is wrong. What does gratuity mean?? That's amount or extra tip is up to customers. Business owners need to pay their own employees the correct fair salaries. Any extra tips made for being attentive, they keep not the owners. Great service are rare in Chinese Asian community. For those donr mind that gôd for you. As for me, gratuity should never be mandatory. This í my review. If you go eat less than 6 people in the party, you don't...
