This Pluckers just opened up within the last few months. If you've never been to a Pluckers they are a family-friendly sports bar that specializes in wings.
Both the restaurant interior and exterior were spotless. Everything felt new, and there is plenty of parking around the building. This place is such a hot spot that when I showed up at 8:20pm, I still had to get in a waiting list, with a potential wait of 40-50min. Luckily, I didn't taken but 20-25min of waiting, and they take your name and phone number to let you know when your table is ready.
The service was good and the food was great. The menu offers so much in terms of appetizers, entree, alcoholic, and nonalcoholic drinks. While it took longer than usual for our food to come out 20-30min, the server was incredible; very friendly, attentive, and gracious. The portions size-able, so, consider sharing and maybe even taking some to go.
Some tips: There is an extensive list of over 20 wing sauces. Even if you get the smallest size of wings, ask for at least 2 flavors so you can get a variety. You can also ask for these in the sides. If it's your first time they might offer you a half-size of fried pickle spears as they did with us. There is also a rewards program that costs $20, but it's a lifetime subscription and you earn points and get desserts, apps, and other perks for being a member. To "sweeten" the deal they might even throw in a free dessert if you sign up, as they offered us. Also, if you go to an Astros game and the Astros steal a base you can earn free wing coupons to be redeemed in store. Lastly, while this location doesn't currently offer trivia, some of the other locations like Shepherd and Webster have weekly pub trivia and it's a great time. Plus, you can win prizes!
This is a great place to watch a game, enjoy happy hour, or to take the family. I would caution against taking a date as it gets pretty loud and rowdy and it can be hard to hear each other at...
Read moreAs a long-time customer of Pluckers, I was extremely disappointed by a recent experience that has left me reconsidering future visits. My friend and I chose to sit on the patio specifically so he could smoke a cigarette without disrupting other guests. In an act of courtesy, I informed a woman with two children who approached the area that someone at our table was smoking, suggesting she might prefer another table to avoid discomfort.
Rather than appreciating the consideration, the woman responded with clear attitude, questioned the server about smoking on the patio, and subsequently involved the manager. At no point were there any visible signs stating that smoking is prohibited on the patio, nor were we informed of any such policy in the past—despite my friend having smoked on the patio during previous visits without issue.
The first manager, Matt, approached us and instructed us not to smoke. We attempted to clarify the situation and explain the precedent, but instead of a reasonable discussion, the situation escalated further. Shortly after, another manager—a Black woman—was sent over to speak with us. It was immediately apparent that this was an attempt at racial optics, as she addressed us using overly familiar and unprofessional language such as “I’ma keep it 100,” which felt condescending and performative.
This approach not only made us feel singled out and uncomfortable, but also seemed to amuse the party that had complained in the first place. They sat nearby, visibly enjoying the situation they had created.
Overall, the lack of clear policy signage, the inconsistent enforcement of rules, and the poorly handled managerial response turned what should have been a casual outing into an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. I hope Pluckers takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how to better handle such situations in the future—with professionalism, consistency, and respect for...
Read moreI can only give one star, because I am not allowed to put zero. I live in La Porte near Bayport terminal, we visit the Pasadena location frequently and a friend of mine managed there. He let us know about the Meyer land location and him moving there. It was going to be a large move in his career so we wanted to support him.
When it opened, we drove to the Meyer Land location during soft opening to congratulate him and sit down to have dinner. It’s over an hour and thirty minutes to get to this area since we drove to attend PM dinner. When we arrived there was someone at the front door letting us know they were at max capacity, I let them know I was coming to congratulate a friend, we understood it was at max capacity but we don’t come to this area so we were upset they wouldn’t allow us to even enter to say hello and leave.
When I told him we came to see our friend, and if we could see him, he started yelling aggressively at me that “[He] doesn’t know who works inside” & that he was from corporate and I wasn’t going to go inside. I wasn’t being rude to this person, I was being kind to him the entire time. My fiance and I walked away, feeling very attacked and frightened by his behavior.
I felt belittled by a company we loved and visited so much, the man exhibited out of pocket hostility and I thought about the interaction the last few weeks since then.
All I can suggest coming from restaurant management myself is to contain your corporate leaders if they’re the faces of your company, he had no clue who he was screaming at. I have very odd feelings towards pluckers now, it was a situation that changed my view on spending my money here.
No, I don’t want anything...
