We came here for my brother in laws bday and it was a pretty good experience. There were long picnic tables able to accommodate large parties. Parking was tight during peak hours, but you should still be able to find a spot. My assessment: 1. Price was great! We got a Groupon and it was 22$ for 40$ worth of food. Also, they have specials for drinks everyday of the week and happy hour. We went on Wednesday and got 1/2 odd our wine bottle. We ordered the canyon road cab regularly priced at 26$ but reduced to 13$. This. Was. Money. The cab was smooth and so worth it! See my pics for menu pricing of specials 2. We ordered: -catfish po boy- this was ok. There was too much bread... I mean po boy bread is the bomb but there was just too much of it. Po boy bread is crispy and chewy all at the same time. It's not like Nola but still decent. -mandalas seafood platter. Would recommend if you want a little of everything for value. This comes with 4 shrimp, 4 fried oyster, one catfish filet and fries and hush puppies for 21$. The fried batter was crisp. No complaints about that. The portions large. -shrimp and crab gumbo. We ordered 2 bowls. One came out cold and the other Luke warm. We asked them to rewarm and they did so but meh. Not my favorite. Something about cold soup that's unsettling... like it was pulled out of a freezer and microwaved In a bag then dumped into the bowl kind of unsettling.... -veggie penne pasta- large portion, creamy. Pretty alright. -crawfish tails- crisp, but crawfish tiny. Ate a lot of batter. Side note: the tartar sauce is so yummy here! 3 ppl were nice here. I like that. Overall, it was fun and if you have a Groupon definitely worth it for your fried food fix.

I posted a review of Ragin Cajun three months ago so I guess u can sat this is a update so-to-speak of that experience. Again very good food but expensive for this type of cuisine but it's still worth the extra cost. So when I was here three months ago I posted that the dining area was cluttered with dirty dishes as the dining room staff played on their cell phones. I was assured by the person that responds to the reviews that it shouldn't have happened and he personally spoke with "Diego" and told him that was unacceptable blah blah etc. well this is my first evening visit back since then and guess what? Dirty dishes everywhere and the dining staff constantly on their cell phones (see attached pics). These photos were taken over the 40-45 mins I was there so they aren't "back to back" pics. When I left the main phone abuser was kicked back on the patio having a phone conversation....and yes half eaten food and dirty dishes everywhere. I was asked to call and ask for Shelby Roberts if I saw something like this again. I called while I was there and was put on eternal hold, after 8 mins 35 seconds I hung up and left. Again I will note that when Luke is there you don't see this nonsense, I guess it's just poor management when the cats away...as the old saying goes, the mice will play I'll add the pics shortly

Overall Rating: 4/5 (7.5/10 Adjusted) Walking into Ragin’ Cajun feels like stepping straight into the heart of Louisiana. The atmosphere might be a bit intimidating, but in the best, most flavorful way possible! With plentiful seasoning, good eats, and LSU gear adorning the walls, this Houston spot keeps the good times rolling with its authentic Cajun cuisine. Fried Crawfish PoBoy: 7/10 • Pros: The bread was fantastic—crisp on the outside and chewy inside. No effort required to enjoy all that delicious crawfish meat. • Cons: None noted, but it left room for improvement in overall flavor. Fried Shrimp PoBoy: 7.4/10 • Pros: This PoBoy felt heartier with more meat, which is always a plus. The bread, just like with the crawfish PoBoy, was perfect. • Cons: The dressing was a bit confusing—it had a light spread of ketchup that didn’t blend well, missing a bit of that “magic sauce” that could tie it all together. Cajun Fries: 7.4/10 • Pros: These fries were a hit—crunchy, crispy, and seasoned like a champ. Ragin’ Cajun is a great spot for anyone craving a taste of Louisiana right in Houston. Whether it’s the perfectly crisp bread or the hearty fillings, the PoBoys here do not disappoint. Just keep in mind that some items might benefit from a little more sauce magic.

This was our first visit after passing by for years. We received a very nice greeting by the owner and our waiter was nice, however, that was about where the 5 stars ended. The Gumbo was good and had about the right bite; I would have liked okra in it, but Maceo Spice & Import in Galveston makes better, however, I have never had crab and shrimp (my preferred) gumbo there. They had boiled Blue Crab the owner had talked it up so I was truly looking forward to it.

I do not know what middle-man came up with the idea of selling Blue Crab by the pound, but I hope that he is burning in Hell. I have not yet adjusted to buying them by the pound for a critter that is hugely shell.

For thirty bucks, I got 3 lil o'crabs, one half chunk of corn and two red spuds. THIRTY BUCKS!! When the waiter asked if I wanted them mild or spicy, I ordered them mild, based on how spicy the gumbo was (getting old now). Well, friends, that was a huge mistake. I mean, they did not even show those crabs the seasoning can nor did they salt the water. I was wondering why in the world they served butter with boiled Blue Crabs and I found out why. That was the only flavoring that you got with those crabs, I am here to tell you.

Now for the biggest let down of all. Two of the crabs were mushy. Considering that the attendant veggies cost next to nothing, the three crabs basically cost me ten bucks a pop and two were mushy. So there I sat, eating three flavorless crabs at ten bucks each and two had the added benefit of being mushy.

Given all the warning signs in the parking lot about theft and damage to cars. I think that for the most part, enough drinking gets done that people don't care about mushy, flavorless crabs.

I did not expect a trip back down Bayou La Fourche, but still . . .

Hiding behind Google eh? Buddy; this is a review of an actual experience. I don't need to talk to anyone there about what we experienced. At those prices, you have no justification for serving such a sorry product. Alas, I can't take off another star for owner whining rather than resolving to provide a better customer experience in the future. Evidently you had rather depend on sloshed,...
