A modern Vietnamese restaurant with an open bar is nice addition to Vietnamese cuisine in houston. My wife and I were hungry and was in the area looking for some Vietnamese food and decided to try this place out. The restaurant is very clean and nice, with an open bar as a nice touch. While we were the only ones there, service was on point, down side, I understand it’s slow, but employees shouldn’t be visibly sitting down talking and relaxing, while a customer is present. Now don’t get me wrong, they were very attentive, but to me, it is kinda rude, that you can see your waiter/waitress sitting down few tables away from you chit chatting while you are enjoying your meal.
Next is the food, food was decent, price was alittle expensive to what I usually spend at a Vietnamese restaurant, a lot of things could’ve been better. We ordered grilled pork with rice and a fried egg (pork was bland, egg should’ve been crispy like in normal Vietnamese restaurants), Dried Chicken Pho (broth on the side could use alittle more seasoning), firecracker shrimp (the Thai sweet chili sauce basically came from the bottle that you can get at most Asian supermarket), Shrimp Spring Rolls (the sauce has too much putter butter in it and can barely taste the hoisin sauce that goes into the sauce), and half a dozen oysters (flavor could’ve been better, slightly bland).
Over All, food could be a lot better, service was good. Would I eat here again? That’s the main question right. If I’m in the area, maybe, but if I’m willing to drive there from where I’m at, straight no. I rather go to Bellaire and eat at those viet Reataurants, where I can get better tasting food for a better price.
If anyone wants to try for the experience, I’d say take the risk, won’t hurt on trying a modern Vietnamese Restaurant out. But my...
Read moreI haven’t reviewed a restaurant in quite some time, but I’m very disappointed right now. I have come to Resilience a few times and have had great experiences. I typically order the tofu rice plate for lunch with the Vietnamese coffee & it is a 10 out of 10 every time. Today, I came at 4 during their happy hour. There were about 6 tables including us, one waiter, and two bartenders. I over heard a couple in front of us complain to on of the bartender that they had been waiting to order drinks over 5 minutes. The waiter seemed frazzled and not able to get to each table in a timely manner. We waited over 5 minutes to receive our menus and water. The 2 drinks we ordered took 10 minutes to come out. And here is the part that was infuriating!!! The drinks were sitting at the bar and neither bartender thought to just bring them to the table! One was talking to someone sitting at the bar and the other was just moving liquor bottles around. I ordered the lamb plate which again took a while to come out. The waiter mentioned it was exquisite, but it hardly was. The seasoning was okay, but required more flavor and NOT worth $26. They added a small portion of a salad and it did not come with rice. I decided to order a side of steamed rice from the bartender who brought my food and he DID NOT bring it. I’m sure the rice is made and ready to serve. WHY DID YOU ADD TO THE POS and NOT BRING IT TO ME??!!! I wanted to get one more drink after 15 minutes and we never had our waiter come back so I decided to go elsewhere. They had the rice fee on my ticket and she had my card for another 5 minutes before processing my payment. I’m so disappointed. I hope the manager reads this and makes changes. I liked this place and this...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Spot for Pho, Oysters, and Fresh Flavor
This restaurant has quickly become my go-to for pho and grilled oysters—and it continues to exceed expectations every single time. With a wide variety of menu options and consistently fresh ingredients, it’s a place that turns an ordinary meal into something that feels like a much-needed reset.
The pho is exceptional—comforting, flavorful, and made with care. The combination pho is my favorite: savory, tender meats, fresh herbs, and a clean, rich broth that hits all the right notes.
The oyster offerings are another standout. Both the garlic butter and Rockefeller styles are succulent and exploding with flavor—expertly cooked and beautifully presented. They’re a must-try.
Appetizers also shine here. The shrimp spring rolls are light and refreshing, the firecracker shrimp is packed with flavor without being overly spicy, and the chicken fried dumplings are golden, crispy, and incredibly satisfying.
Service is consistently top-tier. Even during peak lunch hours, I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for food. The staff is professional and attentive, and the owner’s hands-on, hospitable approach adds a warm, personal touch to the experience.
Over the past few months, I’ve introduced several friends to this spot—and without fail, they’ve all called it their new favorite hangout. That alone speaks volumes.
If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful food with exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere, this place...
