I've been a soutwells fan my entire life. They have been in operation nearly 40 years and are a houston staple. My first job was at the memorial location in high school! :) For those that have lived near one of the locations for any length of time knows southwells is the neighborhood go-to for good food at any time of the day thats delicious and affordable!! When I think of what a burger (or chicken sandwich) should taste like, southwells is what comes to mind. What I appreciate most is how the food isn't greasy and they don't drown it in condiments. The meat is always hot, the buns are always warm and toasty, and the veggies are always cool and fresh, and overall the sandwiches are the perfect size. I've never walked out disappointed with my order! I'm a fan of order-at-the-counter restaurants and southwells steps it up a level by bringing your food to you at your table so you don't have to listen to an annoying loud speaker calling out orders while you eat. The staff is always very friendly and the orders move qiluick (even at its busiest you won't wait more than about 10 minutes for your food to come out) The prices are only about a dollar or two more than whataburger and much less than all other restaurants in the area. I rotate between the regular cheese burger and the chicken supreme ๐๐๐ the waffle fries are where it's at (be sure to ask for a side of the homemade ranch to go along with it!!) You won't be...
ย ย ย Read moreI had never heard of this place before, and I was in the area, and I was looking for a nearby burger place and this just happened to be the closest place to me, so I went and gave it a try, and it was great. It's just one of them places where the hamburger and fries taste different from all the other places and it actually reminded me when I was a kid we used to eat at this mom and pops place that made the best cheeseburgers I ever ate, and they closed down and I never had anything quite like that until I ate here. I like the way the fries are too it's like real potatoes that they sliced into pieces and fried them. The food is just delicious, it's like it's original. Most places taste the same or have the same taste throughout all the food chains but this is different. I just liked this place all the way around. I will defiantly be coming back here and eating here again. For something fast, good and not to expensive. For a can of coke, fries and cheeseburger ran about 12 bucks. It's enough to fill you up and it's...

Their burgers are consistently tasty, not too greasy, juicy, and cooked well with a yummy variety of toppings. Just a good 'ol burger. The onion rings are pretty good but can be a bit too oily. :/ The waffle fries are amazing though!! They also have a few chicken sandwich options which are also good and I would call their salads great, always fresh! It's hard to find a good salad that isn't way over priced. I especially like the Field Salad because it comes with lots of sliced almonds and sprouts. Cathy's Favorite is another great standby. Once I tried their chili dog and I keep craving it! One day I'll have another one. One day. The place is always clean and the staff is quick and polite, always a friendly place! Does get quite busy at lunch time though and the parking lot can get packed...
