Review:
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spanish Flower and I must say, it was an absolute delight for the senses. This restaurant has instantly become my go-to spot for authentic Mexican cuisine in town. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that transported me straight to Mexico.
The menu at Spanish Flower is a culinary masterpiece, featuring a wide variety of exquisite dishes that tantalize even the most discerning palate. Every bite was a burst of flavor, perfectly accentuated by the skilled chefs who clearly pay attention to detail. The vibrant colors and presentation of each dish showcased the artistry that goes into creating these mouthwatering delicacies.
One standout dish that left me craving for more was the traditional mole enchiladas. The rich and creamy mole sauce, paired with tender chicken and topped with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, was a true masterpiece. Another highlight was the street-style tacos bursting with juicy and perfectly seasoned meats, accompanied by a variety of mouthwatering salsas.
The service at Spanish Flower deserves special mention; the staff are attentive, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. They gladly explained the different dishes and provided recommendations based on personal preferences, helping us navigate the menu with ease.
The vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant adds to the overall experience. The lively Latin music in the background, combined with the colorful décor and comfortable seating, creates an inviting and festive ambiance that exudes the true spirit of Mexico.
Spanish Flower also offers an extensive drink menu, featuring classic margaritas and tequila selections that perfectly complemented our meal. The bartenders passionately crafted each drink, serving up a refreshing burst of flavors that elevated our dining experience.
Overall, Spanish Flower stands out as a shining gem in the Mexican culinary scene. The dedication to authentic flavors, attentive service, and lively ambiance make it an exceptional dining destination. Whether you're a fan of Mexican cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, I wholeheartedly recommend Spanish Flower for an unforgettable dining experience. ¡Viva la...
Read moreTerrible experience. I called & ordered the fajita mix lunch special, which is 12.99. I get there to pay & they tell me the total is 30.99. I said no, that isn't correct because I ordered from the lunch menu. The waiter asks a lady sitting eating on her phone, who I assume is a manager. The waiter then proceeds to take my bag of food back to the kitchen. She then comes out & tells me the total is 18.99. Even tho on the physical menu at the restaurants, it says 12.99, I asked again. I thought it was 12.99 while pointing at it on the menu. She goes back to ask the lady sitting down eating on her phone, which I assume is the manager, and this lady tells me that’s just the system & nothing they can do. As a manager, if you know this problem, why not fix it? I think she’d rather sit on her phone. I pay the given amount & leave a tip because I see no point in continuing the conversation. I drove home and opened the bag and the plate. It seemed like some of the food was taking off, which makes sense since I assume the order was confused. My order was also missing the 2nd side that comes with any meal. The biggest thing missing was tortillas; how does one forget to place tortillas in the bag of a fajita order? I then call to inform them of what happened, and the phone proceeds to get passed around to multiple people who offer a solution. The last person I spoke to, which I’m 100% sure wasn’t the lady that I believe is the manager, who was sitting down on her phone eating, asked if I could come back, but I was over the situation. My suggestion for anyone who spends their hard-earned money in this tough economy at this establishment is to ask them how much the meal costs no matter what the menu says. I also suggest if you order anything to go, open every single item you have up there in front of them and go through it just in case you’re missing something. I will be in a lot of places in my life, but I won't be back...
Read moreI used to work by the Spanish Flowers on I-45 N at Richie, and went there frequently for lunch. Their Texas Plate is a tasty good value and I'd always substitute a crispy beef taco for the cheese enchilada. I also love their carne guisada. However, that location is abysmal when it comes to large groups. So is the newest location at Durham.
I went with a large-ish (12) group of friends last night for Valentine's day. We arrived at 6:30 and I was surprised we were the only table in the dining room at that time, but we all kind of figured the Valentine's day crowd would come later. The food was not good and the service was worse. My friend's salad was brought out without the dressing, another friend's fajitas without any fixings, and a third friend who showed up a little later was acknowledged and told by the waitress she'd be back for her order only to be completely forgotten. I waited over 40 minutes for my too sweet cocktail, which finally showed up after I'd finished my greasy, flavorless tacos al carbon. Most of our group paid (after several had to ask for corrections to their checks) and left before 9, but a few of us lingered over more cocktails. Until they literally turned out the lights on us at 9:30. There were 2 or 3 other tables in the dining room at that point (the Valentine's day crowds never materialized, I wonder WHY 🤔) and they're open until midnight. I can't imagine the reasoning behind turning off the lights during business hours on people who are still spending money. Needless to say, none of us...
