I finally found out how to write the review for the restaurant, so I copied and pasted what I left at the food truck because people need to know! This is my first review. I hate that it is a negative one, but my experience here was not as expected. This was my first experience at Tastee Buddies and it was not a good one. I went to the restaurant. The customer service from the girl at the front counter was horrible. She didn’t greet me or the people that followed behind me, but some people from the back did. I felt invisible as she was so distracted. She kept getting loud with other customers in the store. And yelling to the customers to the back. Tension rose as I watched how she provoked all the other workers. I believe I heard one said they wanted to go home while arguing with her. She was very combative the entire 43 minutes I was there. Also, she spent a lot of time on her phone. When my order was placed, she told me she would bring it to my car if I’d like. I agreed. I waited another 10 minutes for my order. I watched others who arrived after me get their food and leave. I ask the girl when my food would be ready. She asked me for my number which I did not have because she did not give me a receipt because she was so busy on her phone. She asked the people in the back about my order once I told her what it was. Someone yelled back they already made it. Now the girl starts arguing with someone from the back again. He comes to the front and greets me and asks for my order again. I told him, and he said. “We made that order already. I personally made the sandwich.” He asked where she put it. She said she never had it. No one else has been working at the front and no one just walked up and grabbed food, but my order was not there. They start looking and the guy with the braids apologized and said he would make it fresh. I didn’t have time. I was on my lunch break. Now I’m upset because I’ve spent almost 30 minutes at a fast food restaurant with nothing fast about it, and I just got to hear a woman whose hair looks like it drops in the food, yell at everyone in the back, and still no food. As he runs to the back to make my order, the girl at the front counter bends down. I’m not sure what she got, but shortly after she said my food was misplaced and that she had my order. It has been almost 40 minutes at this point. I’m thankful for the guy with the braids who came from the back to help. He did make my food, but the front counter girl was so busy not doing anything, she misplaced my food, which wasn’t even really hot by the time I got it. Since I did not have much time to eat at this point, I did not complain. The sandwich was good! That guy with the braids really did a good job with the flavor, I just wish it was actually hot. My fries were cold. The pink lemonade kool aid didn’t taste or look like kool aid or lemonade at all, and it had way too much sugar in it. I thought I had a good, new place to go eat while on break, but after seeing how she runs the place, and how she just had an attitude, sounded angry, no respect for her coworkers, distracted on her phone, and minimal customer service skills, sadly I won’t be returning to Tastee Buddies. Although the food was good, my experience, and hearing others talk amongst themselves, it is very clear she does not need to be in a customer service position and it sounds like she causes trouble with the staff in the back and I do not understand how you expect to be successful with a person with such a nasty attitude be at the front. Again, the food tasted good, but it was cold because I waited so long. Maybe she was having a bad day, but as a customer, I shouldn’t know that, and I shouldn’t witness her unprofessionalism towards coworkers. This place has the potential to be great, but that first impression is everything and unfortunately, my first impression was so bad that it will be my last! Praying you get it together over there with a good, positive, uplifting person...
Read moreFirst time at this location. I follow chef pressure so when I went to the truck about a month ago and they said he was here going by Chef L, I came because I know his food always be good. I was eating from him when he was cooking for Mo Better Brews, and I went to get some of his vegan food when I found out he was on a vegan truck and I’m not even vegan!!!! The food he made me on the Tastee Buddies truck and what I got at the restaurant was a surprise. On the truck in Katy, I order the #1 and it was good. I wasn’t as hungry, so I ordered the Philly eggrolls from the restaurant. They were dry, no cheese, no onions, no peppers and didn’t look like a eggroll at all. It was just short and fat with steak only. It was far from a Philly cheesesteak and tasted nothing like what I was used expected. I decided to give this location another chance cuz again, chef p never fails. so I got a Philly because the eggroll was so nasty I couldn’t eat it and I didn’t want to go through that again. The Philly was just as good as I remembered it at the truck so Chef Pressure must have cooked that, but whoever made the eggroll need another job!
The service was also not what I was expecting. I didn’t like how the girl in the front was talking to some of the people in the back. She sounded like she didn’t want to be there. And she was flirting with the guy who was ordering in front of me for a while but she didn’t have that same smile and voice when she helped me or the family behind me. She sounded bothered by us being there and I didn’t feel comfortable watching how thirsty she was when she was supposed to be working and I didn’t appreciate her treating the customer she was flirting with correctly, but had an attitude with other people. The wait for the food wasn’t long but the wait to order was longer than it should have been. I guess you have to be a cute guy to get good service cuz that was just sad to watch and bad to experience.
I recommend the Philly sandwich to anyone who comes cuz it was so good and just what I wanted. Stay away from the eggrolls and maybe use the drive through so you don’t have to feel so uncomfortable by the girl at the front. Unless you are a man looking for a...
Read moreWaited long to try this place unfortunately the visit was disappointing. The young lady at the front was great. I was impressed by her explaining of the menu and quality of service.
I ordered at 2:47pm and I did not receive my food until 3:30pm. Waiting 40 mins for a cheesesteak was a let down. However the true disappointment came in what I saw during my wait.
The young lady did an amazing job handling frustrated customers, following up on their tickets, attempting to communicate with the back and apologizing.
Every time I saw a new customer, I witnessed that she gave everyone the same great treatment. However I saw the back of house ignore her, talk rude to her “if you are going to talk rude to me, you can go home” (is what the lobby heard someone saying to the young girl in the front.
The way she was being treated upset me, especially when I heard her dad “worked the drive thru”. If this is the owners daughter, I can tell she cares about representing what you are trying to build.
As a father it was a beam of light to see a child in today’s world represent her father so amazingly.
I was order number 41 and I saw order 42 and 43 go out before mine. I didn’t leave because I didn’t want to give the young lady more trouble than she was already dealing with.
Disappointed because my wife wanted to try this place too but after the service from the back of house I don’t think I’ll...
