Buckle up, because this one may take a bit. I haven’t been here in 14 years, but that’s because I live up by Dallas and rarely make it to Houston (read never). This was one of the must hit spots for us on our trip this weekend, and it did not disappoint. To start, you know it’s going to be fancy since they spell grill with the superfluous ‘e’. Walking in, you’re hit with the sweet sweet aroma of breakfast. It’s tough to explain, but you know it when you smell it. They advertise comfort food, and boy was I comfortable. I ordered the #2 over easy, hash browns and a biscuit, with a side of bacon. My wife ordered the same thing, but scrambled eggs and sausage. We both got a coffee. Their coffee is awesome. I started with the toasted cinnamon, she had the pecan. Good Lord people, their coffee is good. We sat by the fire, looking around, and then they called my name. The first thing I noticed was the helpings won’t keep you skinny. The hash browns were piled up, and cooked perfectly. My eggs were perfect, nice cooked whites with a good and runny yellow. The biscuit was the size of my fist. You may think either I’m exaggerating, or I have extremely tiny hands. Neither are true, the biscuits are just that big. The bacon was thick, pecan smoked and peppered, and delicious. Then I looked at the sausage patty. I’ve seen hamburger patty’s that are smaller than this thing. It dwarfed the biscuit, and she seemed to love it. Now back to the biscuit. Of only was it huge, but it was delicious. Soft, flaky, the perfect crunch on top and bottom. I threw two pads of strawberry jelly on it, and could have thrown a couple more. Bottom line, if you’re in H-town, go to the Buffalo Grille. Your stomach...
Read moreA friend, my husband and I sat on the patio with our dog today (4-22-18). There was one table, besides ours, that was occupied who had two dogs with them. We decided to close the gate and let the dogs off leash to play. We were the only ones out there. One of the managers, Jason, came walking out and looked into the patio area. He said nothing to us at this time. A little while later he came back and flung the gate open and walked away. All three dogs ran to the open gate. Never once did he say anything to us about opening the gate. Luckily, my friend noticed him doing this and was able to jump up and stop the dogs from getting out. She told him that he could have said something instead of just opening the gate. He yelled at her that the gate needs to stay open. She told him that was fine but he should have said something. He yelled at her, again, that it isn't his responsibility to watch our dogs then he walked inside. We were ready to leave at this point but my friend went inside to speak to Jason again. He didn't want to hear anything she had to say. She told him he was a disgusting human and he started yelling "my name's Jason, I'm a disgusting person" right there in the restaurant which was full of guests. I understanf it isn't his duty to watch the dogs but to open the gate and not say anything to us about it, even after knowing the dogs were off leash, is a little sad. A simple request would have been fine. He could have said something the first he came out. We would have been fine putting them back on leash. There are no signs posted about keeping the gate open. None. Thank goodness no one was injured but it could have turned out differently. The way he handled the situation was very...
Read moreI WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!....we got here at 2pm for brunch and since they serve breakfast all day I assumed our visit would be pleasant but I was sadly mistaken. I ordered the migas and it seemed like they pre-cook the orders and leave them under a hot lamp. The tortillas in the migas were extremely soggy...to the point that they had almost dissolved into the overbooked scrambled egg. This dish really was not edible so I politely went to the manager to ask if I could switch my plate for something different. The manager on duty Sunday August 24th at 2pm was the rudest person I have come in contact with at a restaurant. He argued with me that the tortillas were supposed to be soggy and very rudely asked what I wanted instead of this dish. No wonder the staff laughed, whispered and actually said out loud that I was making their job hard....with that manager as the example they should follow it was obvious he was incompetent and reflected that onto the staff. The $8 loss is not worth loosing customers in my opinion, but I guess in that man's brain it seemed to make sense to be rude to the person spending money at this establishment. The whole staff's response to my complaint was so poor that I didn't even feel comfortable eating the new dish they brought out for me. Needless to say I will NEVER return to...
