We went as a group of 12 for a surprise party. We arrived early, so we had a before dinner drink. The Old Fashioned was nice, and my wife said the house Moscato was fine, but a little too sweet. I did try some, but to me all Moscato is too sweet. We sat with our party and they delivered cheese biscuits to the table. They were okay, but they tasted more like salty cheese than anything. We ordered the Coxinhna for the appetizer. On it's own it was very bland, but the sauce brought the flavor to compensate. It was basically Papa's Rellenas in Puerto Rican cusine. But for the $19 spent on it, it left a lot to be desired. My wife ordered the Picanha Wagyu 13oz prime steak ($51), and I had the 10oz prime Filet Mignon ($51) wrapped in bacon with broccoli and Heart of Palm (Swamp Cabbage). Her steak was slightly under for medium, more like medium rare. She said the steak was lacking flavor, and had to depend on the butter from the undercooked broccoli ($9) to carry the steak. I was shocked to see that my 10oz prime filet was 3 pieces of the tail of the tenderloin wrapped in half pieces of bacon. It was overcooked because how can you cook the tail pieces medium, and cook the bacon wrap properly. It lacked flavor as well, and because it was overcooked, was a tad bit chewy (which a prime steak should almost never be). The heart of palm was mediocre for the $11 cost. It tasted like it came out of a can. Overall the entree course was mid and left too much to be desired for the cost. For dessert, we shared the Creme Burlee. It was more like Flan with caramelized sugar on top. We did not see a vanilla bean one in it... And for the $13 price tag, it seemed like it was a mix product and not homemade. Our dessert spoons were cheaply made and dirty as well. In our honest opinion, we have had better steaks that were choice at chain restaurants. We were expecting a fine dining top notch experience, and feel like we received a decent at best ambiance with extremely subpar cuisine. Our friend across from us ordered the short ribs, and she didn't even touch them. They appeared to be overcooked and dry. She said they had no tenderness whatsoever, and the server didn't even ask why it wasn't touched. The birthday boy had the Bife Ancho (ribeye), and he said it was mid as well. His asparagus was also undercooked. This may be a place for younger uneducated palettes to enjoy for a prom or something, but for someone with a sophisticated palette I definitely don't recommend eating here. There are much better steaks at better prices. And to make it clear: I not complaining about the prices. I will spend $100+ for a quality steak that will knock my socks off. But if you are charging premium prices, people expect a premium product... And this place DID NOT deliver! Also, the service was basic, no personal touch from the servers and they didn't enhance the ambiance. The only reason the servers came to the table was to sell food. The DJ played good music, but we had to notice the head bob move he did the entire time (Lol). That added more to the ambiance to our dining experience than the staff. Please heed our warnings and find somewhere else to eat... The company of friends made the night special, but I really wish I could have left a better review because the night would have been spectacular if I...
Read moreIf I had the option to give this place 0 stars, I WOULD. My gf brought me here for my 30th birthday with all of my friends, worst experience. First of all, our reservation was for 9:30p - we didn’t get sat till 1010p, the hostess kept passing us up. Second of all, when we got sat down it seems like they just threw our table in the corner and sat us next to the speaker which was extremely loud because they had a DJ, and also next to a party that was going on in the private room, which was annoying because they had another band playing in there, we were literally yelling across the table to have a conversation; also they sat us under air vent which water kept dropping on one of my friends all night. Then, the waitress took forever to get us our drinks, which were not worth $18.00 - when we tried to order food, she said “oh no, we’re gonna do apps first and then order entrees”. We didn’t get our food until 11:30ish, which is an 1hr 1/2 of a wait. When we got our food, it was flavorless, cold, and dry. My steak was supposed to be cooked medium, it was well done and so dry. When we advised the waitress she had them make another one, she brought it back out which literally look like 2 pieces of flank steak and it was SO SALTY, like they dipped it in sea salt, literally when you bit into it there was a crunch. When my gf, told the waitress she said oh, I can switch it out - I said NO. The waitress started making excuses & we asked for manager. Manager came to the table and we advised him of the horrible service we have received and how everyone’s food was so cold, dry, and salty. He kept making excuses for the service and said they only have 2 cooks - yet we believed that’s not excuse for the horrible service we received & for the price it was. I no longer wanted the cake, because I did not eat. We left the restaurant 12:15ish trying to rush to catch up with our nightly activities. WORST PLACE EVER, WE WILL...

Pros: Visited the Clock restaurant/lounge/patio/bar for a Bday brunch. This is a fairly new place that is testing out different options as far as cuisine, atmosphere and overall “vibes”. The place is very pretty and there is a very nice outdoor area as well, there are 2 dj’s and they both had pretty good music. The staff was on point, everyone very friendly and the owner greeted us with a toast of champagne. The drinks were amazing, with nice touches of flavors and looks for IG. We visited for the brunch which is also a new concept for this restaurant and the idea is there, and there is potential, however, thats where the positive note ends.
Cons: As mentioned, this restaurant is new, and expensive. For brunch you are looking at $40 per person plus $20 valet as you are in downtown and parking is difficult. The dining experience was very limited and basic. You will find your basic food, from rice, to plantains, eggs, and soup. The biggest highlight was the fillet and Salmon but there were low quantities. There is no dedicated salad area or desert area. Aside from this, you will be happy to find out that most drinks are well above $18 per drink. This would be a great destination place if it was accurately priced to what they offer.
To conclude: This is a mehh restaurant trying to pass themselves as a high end restaurant.
If you are looking for a nice atmosphere, for cute pictures, and an outdoor patio for a casual expensive good drink, and mehhh food, this is the place! Houston is big and there are simply higher standard places with better dining options. If you are looking for a similar priced option, I would recommend spending $10-15 extra and going to Hersay, Brasserie du Parc, Cueva, Fogo de Chao or Gauchos, The Grove, as this place simply cant compete with the quality and dining experience for the price point the are in.
I do...
