The first time I came to this place I LOVED IT! I needed good Mexican food, and haven't really found any since moving here from Cali. My Mexican friends came to visit me, and they heard of La Calle, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered elote, and the birria with a tequila flight. We all gave this place a thumbs up!

Last night my roommate wanted Mexican, and I told her about this place. I convinced her, when I said they had tequila flights. We got there, sat at the bar, and Will took our order. We ordered the flights, and he sat them on the bar without the flight tray. Since I've been there before I asked about the tray and he said they didn't have any. That was disappointing, but I continued to order my food and have a good time. Soon after, a non black patron sits at the bar and ordered a flight as well. My roommate and I watched Will get out the flight tray and served this customer. My roommate says "I thought you said you didn't have any trays?" Will walked right passed us and said in almost a whisper "sorry."

This definitely blew my mind, because I expected the same service as I had when I came here with my Mexican friends. Will never came back to talk to us. He actually had the buss boy take my credit card payment. Judging by the fro the buss boy had, I'm sure he was partially black. Will didn't feel comfortable finishing his job with us, because we caught him racial profiling us. I come from a fine dining background, and I would never do anyone like this. Customer service is important, and I will never forget how he made me feel. I also can't believe that someone who works in this industry would sacrifice their tip over something as small as just getting the damn flight tray out!!!!!

I've always been a great tipper, hell I'll even pull out my calculator to make sure I giving the right percentage, but bad customer service is a NO NO and being a racist is sickening. I texted both of my Mexican friends to tell them about this experience I had, and they were just as blown away as I was. I won't be dining or drinking here ever again! I also hope Will understands that all patrons should be treated equally, and that I hope he never finds himself in a similar situation that...

Awful experience. Spend your hard earned money here at your own risk.

My husband and I both ordered the street taco plates. We walked to the bar side to eat. The tacos are super salty and lacked real flavor. I rate the food 2/5.

I decided to order a frozen lime margarita at the bar. After paying I realize the total is 12.99 on a drink advertised as $10.99 before tax. The drink rang up as $12 before "tax" and $12.99 after "tax" This didn't make sense (what happened to the drink that was $10.99?) Also this was approx. 6oz pour which is tiny. I'm familiar with how taxes are calculated and based on the Harris County restaurant/on-premise alcohol tax rates the receipt did not make sense.

This restaurant is profiting by adding money to your bill that can not be identified. It is not an auto gratuity, service charge, or tax. It is simply an attempt to overcharge patrons that aren't paying attention and is unacceptable.

I asked the cashier and the bartender why my drink advertised as $10.99 totaled to $12.99. These are the responses I received:

The 'frozen drinks' price advertised is not for margaritas. I asked what other frozen drinks do they offer. They said none.

Because my margarita was served in a glass instead of foam cup. (I did not ask for glass) Also why would they charge more for a much smaller glass cup that is reusable?

Because I didn't purchase the margarita in the morning i.e prices change throughout the day

After several excuses that didn't make sense the bartender did apologize and admit that they don't ACTUALLY know and said she would ask the manager. I saw her speak with him and he never came over to clarify the pricing to my husband and I

I don't blame the workers. This has been implemented by the owners and they need to be held accountable. After reading other reviews this is an issue in their establishment and also illegal.

Do better, Tacos La Calle. It is unethical to take advantage of paying customers that CHOOSE to support your business. Failing to be transparent for a quick buck will surely be...

My husband and I use to go here at least 2 or 3 times a week. We have cut back going due to service. I truly do not understand how do you have an app but yet half the cashiers don't know how to work it. Nearly everytime we come there is always an issue with the cashier applying our rewards we have accumulated to our purchases. The app clearly states to show your digital loyalty card to either earn points or use your rewards for money off your purchase or birthday reward. The other option to earn is if you have a linked card. Guess what we don't always use the same cards or we pay cash several times. 5/19 we visited the restaurant due to my husband wanted to use his $5 birthday reward and at cash out the cashier didn't know how to use the app. My husband tried to show her his digital loyalty card she refused to scan and she said it will apply once he go thru prompts to pay after entering his phone number. Well it didn't as usual and charged him full price . Only AFTER the full charges went thru she calls for help. Only to be told as usual and on several occasions their reward system is down you can use the reward next time. I don't want to use next time I wanted to use this time. Please educate your cashiers on how to correctly work and apply customers reward app!!! My review on the tacos is they are good but the portions continue to get smaller and the prices are going up. I've noticed depending on who cashes you out the taco price changes sometimes. We have visited for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I always order the EXACT same taco but yet we've noticed the price will be higher at times. I don't understand that since it's the same taco. Although we love the food my husband said we are going to stop going due to the frustration of the cashiers not applying our rewards on too many occasions. Of course I doubt the restaurant reply to this review cause if you notice their trend is to only reply to the 4 or 5 stars reviews. They don't address the...
