Our family recently stayed at The Lancaster Hotel this past weekend, and our girls are already asking for us to go back! From the moment we pulled up to the valet, we were impressed with their professionalism and hospitality. They were so polite and immediately helped us upload our luggage. Upon entering The Lancaster, we were taken aback by itās breathtaking dĆ©cor and incredible art work displayed throughout the lobby. The General Manager, Mr. Harwell, came out to personally introduce himself and welcome us to The Lancaster Hotel. He made it a point to say hello to our girls, as Iām sure he could see how excited they were to be in this beautiful museum of a hotel. When we entered our room (Deluxe King Suite), there was a personalized card and plate of fruit waiting for us on the coffee table. Itās little details like this that truly make a hotel stand out above the others. When we returned from dinner, Mr. Harwell stopped us on the way to the elevator to say there was āa special surprise waiting for our girls in the room.ā The staff at The Lancaster had made their bed, laid out all their stuffed animals, and neatly folded their blankets. Along with their beautifully made bed, was a special note from the Chef. Earlier at check in, our oldest daughter had her stuffed unicorn with her. Mr. Harwell and Ms. Liz must have made a note of that, because they had the Chef send up special unicorn shaped cookies and chocolate strawberries, especially for our girls. This completely blew us away. As a parent, seeing your childās face light up is the best feeling in the whole world, and their thoughtful gesture had done just that. After a great nights sleep (their beds are so comfortable), we headed up to the mezzanine for their complimentary breakfast. As expected, everything was beautifully set up and their presentation was excellent. There was quite as assortment to choose from, and it was all delicious. The hostess was warm and welcoming, she even commented on our daughterās Dallas Cowboys t-shirt. After we finished breakfast, we explored the floor and admired all the art that was displayed on the walls. I later discovered that The Lancaster Hotel proudly displays hundreds of pieces of contemporary art, focused on internationally respected artists with ties to Texas. Just one more thing that makes this stunning hotel unique! At the end of our trip, I asked our girls what their favorite part was. Their answer? āStaying at the pretty hotel!ā I then asked them what their least favorite part was, their response was not surprisingā¦āthat we didnāt stay longer!ā I have to admit, I completely agree! We are already planning our next Houston trip, and thereās no question as to where we will be staying. To all the staff at The Lancaster Hotel, thank you so for making our stay a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, this hotel has many strengths: the restaurant food is excellent, my room was spotless, and the restaurant manager Daniel (on my last day) went above and beyond with my breakfast, which as always was spectacular. He was very kind, attentive, and truly professional. The housekeeping staff were polite and very attentive, the concierge went out of their way to be kind and helpful, and the front desk team also provided excellent service. āļøāØ||However, my stay was negatively impacted by constant noise from the guests in the room above mine. I had been up since 5 a.m. because I had an event for my sunglasses brand at Post Houston starting at 7 a.m. After working the entire day, I came back to the hotel at 7 p.m. completely exhausted. All I wanted was a good dinner, a hot shower, and some rest. While the dinner and service were perfect, at 10:30 p.m. I found myself unable to sleep because of the constant stomping and jumping from upstairs.||I called reception, and the young lady at the desk did call them once, but the noise continued. When I called back again, she told me: āI already called them, and thereās nothing else I can do.ā I replied, āDo you want me to go up and do it for you, even though itās not my job? You need to call them againāitās not fair, I am a human being and I need to rest.ā After that, she stayed silent on the other end of the phone. This was extremely disappointing. The Lancaster is not a budget hotelāit is an elegant property with a strong reputation, and the operations manager should ensure issues like this are handled properly.||On another note, I also had unpleasant experiences with two waitresses on different days. Jessica, on my second day, was rude and arrogant. Then, on the day of my checkout, I was served by Leticia, who also had a very poor attitude. To me, it felt as if Leticia came with the same attitude as Jessicaāalmost as if she was carrying someone elseās resentment. I donāt know for sure, but that was my perception. Either way, both experiences stood out in a negative way compared to the otherwise excellent staff. Honestly, people with that kind of behavior should not be working as waitresses, as it negatively affects the guest experience.||ššššš I WILL STILL GIVE THIS HOTEL 5 STARS FOR THE OVERALL SERVICE, CLEANLINESS, AND FOOD, BUT I WILL NOT OMIT THESE ISSUES BECAUSE IT WOULDNāT BE FAIR TO GIVE ONLY 3 OR 4 STARS FOR PROBLEMS THAT CLEARLY HAVE A...
