This review is solely based off an average of my overall experience. Firstly, when walking in my daughter and I were absolutely NOT greeted. My daughter even mentioned it, because she was raised knowing that when you walk into a business first impression is everything. Wanting someone to patronize your business, something as simple as speaking to them and acknowledging their presence is the least you can do. That alone would have made me walk right out of any other business immediately, but my daughter has been raving to try this place after I showed her a picture my friend posted when she brought her daughter. As I proceeded to walk to the register the young lady still did not say a word to us and just stood there staring until I finally opened my mouth to place my order. My daughter and I went to the bathroom and as I told the young lady as she worked on orders, she made the comment that the right bathroom was out of order. With her making that comment, I figured maybe there was not a sign, to only walk back there and the bathroom clearly shows an out of order sign. That instantly strikes me, because it made me wonder did she think I couldn’t read or understand an obvious sign on the door? Lastly, what took the cake is the closing. She called my name and as I proceeded to get our food, I said thank you and she said nothing. Not a word was spoken back and she just walked away from the counter. RUDE and UGLY behavior. I asked to speak to the manager and a guy who addressed himself as Albert stated that he was the manager. I expressed exactly what happened and how I will not be returning based on that interaction alone. I also stated to him that I hope the food is good since I will not be returning and how he needs to speak with his employees on customer service and business etiquette. This is poor if this is their normal protocol and if it’s not she needs to be retrained. Such a cute place to go to waste, because the breads we got were actually good, but I stand behind my morals and expectations when spending my money anywhere. I am a Google Local Guide and a foodie that posts reviews on Houston and surrounding areas and I will be advising my followers on the...
Read moreTom N Toms is a cafe in Chinatown serving a variety of coffee- and tea-based beverages along with many savory options such as pretzels and toasts. They are one of the few places open early (8am) that we could find in the area. Pairing that with the ample space, outlets, and wi-fi makes this a great place to study. At our visit, we got the iced black tea latte and bulgogi pretzel.
The black tea latte is refreshing, sweet, and creamy. The creamy and sweet milk is the first flavor to coat your tongue, followed by a mildly bold black tea flavor that rounds out the beverage with a nice medium body and hint of acidity and minerality. Tea lovers will want to request for less sugar while those who prefer a creamier/sweeter milk tea will find this perfect. Delicious!
The bulgogi pretzel is served steaming hot, straight from the oven. I could see the employee assembling the pretzel with the cheese, bulgogi, and other components in the raw dough, which was a great sign of freshness. Aesthetically, the pretzel looks very unique and there's a nice baked char on the exterior. The bread from the pretzel has a nice bouncy and slightly crunchy exterior as well as a thin + soft interior which holds the filling well. It was slightly sweet and buttery. Inside, there's a LOT of melty-stringy mozzarella cheese! The bulgogi is like bits of ground beef, and they are small but full of mildly spicy, mostly sweet, and meaty flavor -- nothing incredibly delicious or complex, but yummy. For the dipping sauce, we chose ranch. It's surprisingly quite good! Served chilled, it has a very nice tang and creamy flavor which taste close to actual buttermilk and dill. The combination of cheese, bulgogi, and pretzel is a great one, and they actually pair with the black tea latte very well.

Read moreI’ve visited Tom n Toms coffee shop twice now and will definitely be back for more.
Tom n Toms is a South Korean coffeehouse chain. A perfect addition to the ever growing new Bellaire Food Street.
I love the industrial elements of the coffee shop, plenty of seating, free WiFi, great tasting coffee and delicious food options. Perfect place for a meeting up with friends, studying, or just getting a quick pick me up for your day.
On my first visit, I tried the Hawaiian pretzel, Caramel Cinnamon bread, Cinnamon Mocha Tomnccino and Cinnamon Choco Tomnccino.
The Hawaiian pretzel is so tasty. Perfect little savory pretzel bites with marinara dipping sauce. The chunks of pineapple were huge and deliciously juicy.
The Caramel Cinnamon Bread is like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal without the milk. The bread is so fluffy and has whipped cream piled high. I love cinnamon flavored things and this is a definite must try. The bread and pretzel are each about $7 bucks. Perfect size for sharing a treat with a friend.
As for the Tomnccinos, loved the Cinnamon Mocha and Cinnamon Choco both great. If you like more chocolate forward drinks then get the Cinnamon Choco.
On my second visit, I had an Iced Horchata Latte and my only regret was ordering a small. It was delicious!
This place is a definite must try!
