I have been coming here since they opened. For the most part the waiters have always been nice and attentive, whether I go alone to eat, or in a group. The food has always been good, except for once the green enchiladas were NASTY but I just took off the sauce and ate cuz that's all I had eaten all day and was HUNGRY!! The guy manager offered to bring me a different option even though i had almost finished my plate, which i declined. He went to check in the kitchen and sure enough the restaurant had changed the green enchilada sauce to a different vendor. When I went to go pay they insisted my meal be free. Since then I haven't ordered the green enchiladas, now my new favorite is the milanesa. Always cooked well and it's a big piece. You don't want to go on weekends cuz it's packed, especially on Sundays. Last Sunday I went, I ordered to go and just ate my meal inside my vehicle. Once more I was hungry and ready to eat, didn't wanna wait for a table. Prices are good and portions are filling. I have placed many over the phone orders, only once had a bad experience with a phone order, they offered to give me a free lemonade but I was on a special diet and could only drink water. I asked for a discount instead of the lemonade and they declined so I stopped going for a year. Another time i stopped going for about 6 months as I got upset that I went in with my husband, the lady manager saw us walk in, remove our coats, sit down, then she came to tell us the restaurant was closed. Couldn't she tell us that the moment we walked in? I always go back sooner or later because the food is good, prices are good, and they're in a convenient...
Read moreIt is like being in Monterrey.
Here's the deal. I hear a lot of people say, "Where can I get authentic Mexican food? Not that Tex-Mex stuff." To which I normally reply: "Tex-Mex is a viable subset of the breadth of Mexican food. And by authentic, what do you really mean? Because there are distinct regions in Mexico, each with its own culinary contributions."
Well, in the case of Tostada Regia, the menu is repesentative of the dishes one would find in the north, and specifically Monterrey.
The food is good here. I would recommend ordering the Norteñita plate, or one of the classic tostadas or the pirata, as your introduction to the menu. Carne deshebrada (shredded beef) is typical of the north. And you will see that most dishes are topped with a serving of crema (a Mexican version of creme fraiche).
I think you will enjoy your dining...
Read moreWe've had 3 bad experiences here. Food is really good, but customer service is not. First time, waiter got our order, we waited for our food for a long time while other people that got there a little after us were getting theirs. Our waiter was working for a little while and then we see him sitting down eating (maybe break time). He never went back to our table to see if we needed anything. Another lady ended up taking care of us. 2nd and 3rd experience, we ordered tortas online. When we got our tortas, they didn't add salsa or limes. During the 3rd experience, they didn't even put the tortas in a bag. We had to ask them to do that. Seems like the people that work here are either lacking working skills or hate working there.also, ordered tortas and the avocados were black. I used to love this place but now is a...
