Villa Arocs tacos were FANTASTIC! This place did not disappoint on my visit. #eastend #secondward #htown #houstontx #Texas

They are back! The best breakfast tacos are back at Villa Arcos—one of Houston’s iconic East End institutions! I can’t find the words to express how much I missed the unique taste of the Chorizo Super, a delightful combo of chorizo, huevo, papas con frijoles topped con queso amarillo rolled on a scrumptious flour tortilla. Family member had the bacon and egg taco (full disclosure they have other favorites😉)! I’m going to address those who’ve posted that the food no longer tastes the same. Of course it doesn’t! Palates change and cooks interpret favorites in their own style. But what hasn’t changed at Villa Arcos is the essence of deliciousness when one takes that first bite into a favorite taco! It only took two bites to transport me to food memory lane. Because after all, isn’t food all about sharing with those we love? I reminisced about friends no longer by my side who enjoyed food and conversation with me at this amazing “hole in the Houston world!” I’ll share a secret - they’re now open Mondays! We were first in line before noon and didn’t experience a long wait but they were steadily busy. Bienvenidos! Keep those tacos coming!

I enjoy coming to Villa Arcos for the best breakfast tacos!! I was introduced to Villa Arcos by my stepdad & I’m glad I was. I enjoy visiting them for their breakfast tacos, it’s my favorite item from their menu. Their previous menu did have more items to choose from but I’m content with the new menu items available. If anything, I’m glad they reopened as I thought they were permanently closed. They do have vegetarian options for those in need. They have both inside and outside seating. On weekends it can get hectic and you might have to wait but it’s worth the wait. They cook most of their tacos from scratch in a cast iron pan, you literally can hear the stainless steel spatula steering all of the ingredients together, be patient. You pair the tacos with the green and red salsa, I add both, smh but I can’t help it. Sometimes the green salsa is spicier but both salsa’s enhance the flavor of the tacos. They also created a rewards program for their members which you can redeem with them. Give them a try, they’ve been around for decades!!!

One of my friends had grown-up in the area and wanted us to try this place. When we got there the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. I am sorry but the line was not worth the wait. We finally got to the front of the long line and the cashier told the customers infront if us that there would be a 15 minute wait before she could start taking orders again due to the current volume. Grant it she did not tell everyone else that was waiting in line about the 15 minute hold to include the folks standing outside. So after 15 minutes the cashier started to take orders again, she took the order of the customers infront of us. But when it was our turn to order the man in the kitchen told her to hold off again, so we waited another ten minutes to place order. We finally placed our order and waited for our tacos. The tacos were brought out to us and well unfortunately they did not live up to the hype. I had three tacos with beans, bacon, potatoes. The food had absolutely no flavor none at all. The tortilla was meh, I only ate one and threw away the other two. My friends also did not like their food, they also said it was flavorless. Also the place has very limited seating so if you see an open table grab it. But like they say if you don't want to complain about the food one should then stay home and cook. But I would never come back and to those that love flavorless food then this...

Same name? Different owners or management ? It does make a difference when you change management around the family. I understand this place has been here for many years however the management is not the same . Not sure if they are passing the torch around, but some people manage better than others and that is what we've experienced here. Noticed a few changes The Villarcos burritos are no longer hot gooey cheesy and not enough Gravy Like before Ordered a few to compare taste and quality, salsa is really good though. They no longer recycle the long neck glass drinking bottles , they just throw them away . Let's all do our part and help the environment ppl. 1 star for the salsa and the availability of menudo. No longer have the option of the corn tortillas for the menudo as an option but you may request tostadas instead, flour tortillas definitely do not go with menudo Again this is a review of MY experience, yours maybe better or not . Room for improvements is my recommendation. Again this is my opinion and a few facts I experienced. I did speak to management about burritos , they did not offer to replace them or give me fresh ones. They got offended cause I complained, saying no one else complained. Well I'm not like everyone else. I know quality fresh food...

Horrific Customer Service and new management; Delicious Tacos

The Short Story: I used to go here often, and have placed several large orders here, but will be going to Chilosos instead from now on. Same quality tacos, with much better service. The new management provides poor quality service and doesn't care about their customers.

The Long Story: I called to place a pickup order at 7am, and they told me it would be ready by 7:45. They called on my drive over to tell me they had a big order come in and my order would be ready by 8:00/15. So I show up around 7:50, pay for my order, leaving a nice tip. At 8:12, they wave me over to tell me that they haven't started my order and it will be at LEAST another half hour before they'll have it ready (which would make it 1 hour late from the initial time they quoted me). I told them that was unacceptable and they said "sorry, but we really don't care about you, but rather our growing line of people that showed up after your order should have already been ready and the other order that came in after you placed yours. They finally refunded my money, but I left with no Tacos, having wasted...
