My family tried Fresh Wings based upon the good reviews we saw here, but my experience wasn't great. The first warning sign was that there were no customers, and the sign on the door indicated cash only. The next warning sign was the outrageous prices, but we figured maybe it was worth it based on the reviews we read. We found the people at the counter not at all personable. We tried both bone-in and boneless mild Buffalo Wings. I also tried ordering a fountain drink only to be told that the machine was shut down. We the went to our table and waited, and waited, and waited. We were the only ones in there, but it took forever to get our food. On the bright side we found the chef to be personable. The bone-in wings had fatty, non-crisp skin. Maybe some like it this way, but definitely not what I look for in a wing. The sauce was OK, but nothing special, and the heat on the wings was medium, not mild. My daughter had the boneless wings. The boneless wings were a decent size, but they were rubbery as if they were previously frozen. My daughter definitely didn't enjoy her wings. My impression was that the owners are struggling, trying to save money by doing things like eliminating credit cards, minimizing their staff, overcharging, and keeping the heat down. Sadly their was not a soul in their bar either on a Saturday night. I felt obligated to write this review because I felt misled by the other reviews online. I won't be returning.
In response to the owner's response, I didn't think I was being spiteful or mean. I stuck with the facts and my impression. After all, the whole purpose of the rating process is to be honest. I felt my input was very honest and accurate based on my experience. I was not at all disgruntled that I couldn't use my card. You must be thinking of somebody else. I do hope that you take my criticism to heart and consider fixing some of the things that are broken. The comments about the business struggling were not personal attacks, but merely an attempt to make you aware of customer's perceptions and things that you might want to...
Read moreWings in general taste good-- the sauces especially are spot on. That said, there is a lotof breading etc on the bone in wings that detract from the flavor (That may be my preference, not others, but usually in my experience bone in wings have minimal breading versus chicken tenders or boneless wings where the breading is heavy.) This establishment no longer delivers, and when they provide an incorrect dressing (i.e ranch vs blue cheese), they suggest you come back to replace the wrong dipping sauce. I completely understand accidents can happen, especially with dressing/sauce that is of similar color and consistency, but once I am home and sitting down to watch a show or sports event with family and/or friends, I feel its the restaurant's responsibility to correct the order or credit me towards my next order (preferably both, but I am cognizant of the struggles a small family owned business deals with and want to support that versus a XL chain). Please note I am not being an extremist and saying they have to refund me the order or anything outrageous...again s* happens. I just want help correcting any mishaps on either side so I can enjoy yummy food and can support local businesses. I mentioned this the last time I was there and was "warned'" under condition of anonymity, that I shouldn't speak to the owner/manager as the establishment was run as a monarchy and any negative feedback, regardless of how constructively it was construed, would result in food being smeared on the floor and/or spit on and/or other unmentionable treatment. I don't know what to believe, and I want to continue to patronize this place. However, now that delivery isn't an option, I may just avoid the drama and go elsewhere. If you are in the area, please give them a try, they are yummy, but they are not cheap and there are options where the staff won't...
Read moreThis is genuinely one of the worst restaurants in the entire known universe. They are consistently unable to process orders on time and bafflingly they are confused when people are upset by this. By now, we know better and routinely show up 15-20 minutes after the END of the order time that's given. We did exactly that today and they said "oh sorry we never looked at Grubhub until you showed up, it's going to be 45 more minutes". Meanwhile my family is sitting at home waiting for me and watching the football game we're supposed to be enjoying together.
They looked me straight in the face and said the estimates in GrubHub aren't real, the order isn't late, we only accepted it when you showed up. They should not be allowed on the GrubHub platform with their consistent inability to meet the estimates given (which they have control over by the way).
When you talk to one of these employees, it will assuredly be the dumbest person you speak to that day, that week, maybe even that year. It is very clear that our education system has failed us. It is astounding that they are still...
