I was disappointed. I think that my expectations of this place were too high and maybe that could very well be part of the issue. We walked in and had to wait, while doing so, I went to the restroom and spent at least a solid 3 minutes in there, to which my family was getting seated just barely after I had came out. We were seated away from everyone else, literally, they were seating everyone else on one side of the restaurant and we were seated completely away from everyone else. It took a few minutes for our waitress to show up, which wouldn't be an issue if the place was busy, but it wasn't. She took our orders for drinks and appetizers and we ended up waiting for quite some time before we got them. The calamari wasn't bad but the pickles that came with it were bland. Mussels weren't so bad but a handful of them were empty shells. Our food finally came and I ordered a French dip, my husband ordered the Bronco burger, and my son, the scallop basket. The burger was bland, with a scant amount of bbq sauce, the least amount of onions straws on the burger and the burger patty itself was bland, and burnt on one side. My son only got maybe 5 scallops of a small size and my french dip wasn't bad, but there was no flavor to it. I had to add salt and pepper. Each item came with steak fries that were most definitely frozen prior, and not fresh . They too were bland. After the meal, we got the check and the total was $80 and some change. Which blew my mind to begin with and there was an itemized charge that said Bar Subtotal that racked up to $18.99, when my husband was the only one who ordered a beer for $6.00, and my son and I got waters. Read moreWe came on a Friday at 2:45pm. By the time we were seated and our waitress came to the table, it was 3:02pm or so. My husband asked if he was allowed to order from the lunch menu, which is supposed to end at 3pm. We were seated before the cut off time, and would have been able to at least inquire about the lunch menu offerings if we had been more promptly greeted. Although the waitress tried to check if the kitchen would make the meal that my husband was hoping to get, she told us that the order wouldn’t even show up on the kitchen’s screen and therefore we couldn’t order it. It’s not like the ingredients got up and left, or that it was food that required a very different type of prep than the regular menu. Ok, so we looked to order something different. I went with the mixed grille (“no, we don’t have anything other than wild rice, and no, you can’t substitute anything else for it”) and my husband chose the bacon Mac. He liked his food and mine was ok. For being the only people in that half of the restaurant and presumably our waitress’s only table, it took almost 10 minutes for her to bring us boxes (which we could see from where we were sitting). Then, when the bill came, we noticed that the cocktail we had ordered was a dollar more than was listed on the menu. This took another 7 minutes to get changed by the manager. Sometimes the atmosphere can make up for less than awesome service, but there was a server who was waiting on people outside that would yell something back to people in the kitchen every single time she went outside. Tried it again last year and had HORRIBLE SERVICE and it was not busy. Decided to not go back for a year. Got takeout with my family this past week and the food was great so I decided to give dining in another shot. Went tonight with my 5 year old and my friend (we are both servers and are pretty understanding of what it can be like in the industry) but this was RIDICULOUS. We got there at 5:30 and expect to only be there for an hour, hour and half tops and ended up not leaving till 8…… and only got one app and two meals (sandwiches ) and a kids chicken… nothing crazy. It was NOT busy for the amount of servers they had on staff. And it’s a Monday night!!!!! We felt like we were there forever and the waiting for the food for over an hour is not even where we we’re getting upset it’s the not checking on us at all the whole time , not caring to update us on how much longer and the not asking if we need anything the whole time that was the worst. The food runner brought our food and she came fo check when we were done. And disappeared again for so long couldn’t put our entrees in for 20 min of sitting there after eating the apps. Then another hour till food and I had to put a take out last minuet because she was too busy going to every table around us and didn’t come over to us once …. We called the manager to tell her this to avoid putting a review like this even though it’s on them …. But all she said was “ thanks for letting us know and I hope to see you again soon” ……….. insane. I legit had to keep my young child busy for almost three hours.
