got a late lunch on their very cute and dog friendly patio with my vegan friend. she orders their sweet thai chili wrap with no cilantro and was brought out their spicy asian wrap which contains chicken. she brought the wrap inside to address the issue and waited for the correct wrap to come out. once the wrap was brought out she took a bite and it had cilantro in it. she opened the wrap to remove the cilantro and while she was doing that the server came out saw she was digging through the wrap and then proceeded to turn around and went back inside. we were never checked on and it seemed like our server, Grace, would have rather avoided the problem rather than address it. my friend only ate half the wrap as she did not want to dig through the other half to pick out the cilantro. the other half of the wrap was discarded after her we told her there was cilantro in it even though she requested no cilantro. once the bill came the wrap was still on the bill with no type of discount (drinks or otherwise) and we asked if we could have some type of discount since the order was wrong twice. she said that the owners/management wanted to charge her for BOTH wraps even though it was an error on service side but she would see what she could do. upon coming back she said she was able to convince management to take half off the wrap. as someone who has worked in the service industry for most of their career ive never experienced an owner/management that didn't want to right a wrong. we were very excited to try a new place out but are leaving disappointed and (my friend) still hungry due to...
Read moreA great restaurant / cafe that unfortunately the owners don't want to be open. Closing at 4pm almost all week, and then being completely closed on Sunday, the prime weekend day for getting together and eating, is quite unbelievable.
Now the hours have been reduced further, closing at 4pm on Friday. I've seen this death spiral of restaurants before. If people arrive (at the most popular days / times to eat) and you are closed, they often never return.
They could cut the seemingly excessive staff levels and remain open during Friday evenings, have a limited special menu to make it easier, etc. There are other ways to be make it work while being open- the most important thing. And being closed Sunday is inexcusable, it would likely be their most profitable day by far were they to be open.
Hopefully someone who is interested in having an open restaurant will purchase it.
Edit- I see the owner replied talking about his wife's cancer. This is highly inappropriate and ridiculous to think that a random customer would have any idea about it personal life, which has nothing to do with my experience and he shouldn't expect customers to know who he and his wife even are, let alone follow a personal situation, or to accuse a customer of being cruel like they know the personal situation. This guy needs help and should not be...
Read moreThis is the cutest little place in downtown Hudson. We stopped here for brunch after a trail run at Willow River State Park (~18 min away) and can't stop talking about the wonderful food we had. The iced Americano was so smooth and not bitter at all like they can be sometimes. They also had many fancier espresso options and an entire menu of just tea and some of the tea leaves come from a local place in Woodbury, MN. Breakfast was served until 11am so we shared the Portabella Veggie Egg Scramble (came with fresh fruit) and the Cranberry Turkey & Swiss sandwich from the lunch menu (came with veggies and dip). The cranberry aioli on the Turkey sandwich was incredible and all of the ingredients just melted in your mouth and the fresh dill on the egg scramble was so unique and flavorful. We had the sandwich on ciabatta but they also had flat bread or gluten free bread. They also have a dog-friendly patio in back and an entire menu just for dogs! Can't wait to come back here with our puppy and listen to their live music. The prices of food and drinks were also...
