We left Pappas on Little York and 59, because they did not have bake potatoes at 6:20 pm on September 29, 2021. After arriving to Humble Pappas to a line in the drive thru, I spoke with the young man assisting with the curb side orders. He suggested that we come inside to place our order. Although we stood in the wrong line, we were had to go to the to go orders. We placed our order at 7:14 pm (per receipt). After noticing customers that had placed their orders after us were receiving their orders, my husband went to see what was the problem. He was told when the buzzer lights up or when we call your name that is when your order is ready. By now 40 minutes had gone by. I went to question about our order (now it is 50 minutes), the manager (Gloria Maldonado), says she is working on it. I finally received the order, 4 bake potatoes (chicken, chop beef, sausage. 1 plain and a 2 Rib pork plate). Now, the kicker...one of the potatoes was wrong and Gloria the manager, had an an attitude and argued with me that the orders were right. It was wrong and she had to make it over. It took us 59 minutes for us to receive our food and to arrive home and I got 2 tough BEEF ribs, instead of PORK ribs. I was TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED with the service and food. To top it off, no one thought to offer a complimentary drink for taking so long or an apology for the wait/mishap of the meal. This is a $72.89 lesson taught not to patronize the 2 Pappas...
Read moreI’ve been living in the Houston area for almost three years and I’ve yet to find a BBQ place that’s worth my standards. See I’m originally from East Texas and my Step-Father owns a BBQ restaurant (Sheps BBQ in Palestine, Texas). I know good bbq when I taste it. Even Bodacious BBQ in Tyler (the one near I-20) is amazing. Maybe it’s a East Texas thing, but I need some good quality bbq in the H. Today I was seeing everyone and their grandpa posting bbq and omg my cravings were through the roof. So I decided to go to Pappas BBQ in Humble near 59/69. First off I looooveeee ribs to the point where I could eat them everyday. I ordered the full rack of baby backs, half a pound of beef sausage for the kiddos, green beans, mac & cheese, and sweet tea. Honestly the green beans, tea, and the seasoning on the ribs weren’t too bad. I just felt like it wasn’t thirty dollars worth of food. For that I could have went to Chili’s or went with my first mind and went to McAllister’s Deli. Plus I always say this, you can tell a good bbq place if the sauce taste right. That sauce was awful omg. It was so bitter and didn’t taste right at all. I’m disappointed because I thought Pappas was going to be legit and I listened to a few people’s recommendations too. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I’m a bit disappointed. Hopefully I’ll find a really good bbq place, but I won’t be going back to Pappas...
Read moreSaturday night, my family and I went to Pappas BBQ to for my sons birthday dinner as he really wanted some ribs. Sounded good, we had been there several other times and the food is always good. So as we are standing at the wood counter where you place your orders, a cockroach made an appearance and proceeded to approach our hands that were resting on the counter. It nearly touched our hands as it blended pretty well with the wood, we almost didn’t see it! So you know, it wasn’t one of the big tree roaches or water bugs as some refer to them where they can come into almost any dwelling but rather one of the small cockroaches, which mean where there is one, there are many, usually an infestation. For one to show up on the counter where there was no food, that says a lot! Anyways, needless to say we lost it, cancelled our orders and left along with everyone in line behind us. Also informed all the customers in the dining room that were currently eating, I sure would have wanted to know. The shocking thing was the staff didn’t seem surprised or disturbed, they simply got a plastic to go bowl and were attempting to capture it. We were very surprised that a Pappas chain would have this type of problem, not to mention they are a freestanding building with no attached companies so no blame can be placed on dirty neighbors. It is all them and they should do better. Eat at...
