I want to start off by saying that this is my go-to spot for ramen in Huntington Beach. I've come here many times and have always left satisfied. They're lunch special (11-3pm) is pretty amazing at $12.99 for an appetizer, bowl of ramen, and a roll (+$3 for a premium roll). The quality of the ramen is pretty great and you can now choose the spicy level and 'danger' was perfect for me. It was the first time in my life I didn't have to add anything spicy to my ramen. I knocked off a star because this last visit we had 2 significant mistakes in our order, one of our appetizers came out incorrect (gyoza instead of edamame) and a wrong roll (salmon crunch roll instead of the Lion King roll). This didn't stop us from eating and we didn't send the wrong roll back instead decided to not bother the staff and eat it which was still delicious. It was just disappointing when you come expecting great service and you order 2 lunch specials (6 items total) and 2 were way off. I would've been more lenient if the place was slammed but there were only 3-4 groups in the restaurant. This still won't deter me from coming here, the lunch special is too good to refuse and the location to so...

Open friendly staff. We didn't wait long.

Kennedy is a wonderful waitress and very knowledgeable in the menu. I appreciate the explanation in the differnet broths.

I went with the spicy tonkotsu ramen with the thin noodles. I also asked for extra firm (but i think they soak for too long so the texture is soft/regular). Their CHASHU really is superb. I should have mention to have the bean sprout on the side so I can add it myself. I prefer to eat the bean sprout added in myself so it isn't soggy and has a crunch taste.

The spicy level isnt spicy. The broth is similar to other ramen shops. The extra spicy paste didnt help. Japanese peeps just doesnt know how to make spicy food.

The miso however to me was bomb. It is a distinct favor that is combination of sweet and miso?

The furikake fries are just fries with furikake sprinkled on them. If you like fries, it is just another variation of cheese and fries.

It is good marketing to do the sushi add on for additional $5.99 or $1.99 for a bowl. I will do the bowl next time.

Overall, friendly staff and prices. Place is well kept and modern.

*there are different types of noodles so maybe ask what kind of noodles comes...

I have been regularly ordering ramen here for a long time. I always get the tonkatsu ramen and instead of pork I ask to replace with beef and they’ve always done it for free. It’s literally just meat replaced with a different kind of meat (I can’t eat pork) They’ve always done it free of charge. Now, as of January 2nd, they started CHARGING EXTRA to REPLACE, not even to give extra meat. This is rediculous. They’re losing a long time customer and my family will no longer be going here either. Penny pinching ridiculousness. They will be losing money in the long run from losing me and my family as customers. If they decide to go back to what they were originally doing and just replacing it I’d be happy to continue ordering ramen from her regularly but for now we will have to find a new place. Very...

Starting with the edamame, I was taken away. It was salted perfectly, and the pods themselves were very soft which made it very pleasant to eat! I had a roll of the spicy tuna, which again, took me away. The rice was soft and sticky, perfect for dunking it in soy sauce, and perfectly paired with sweet ginger! The entree was probably the best part of my meal, though- I had the Black Ramen, and added a spicy level of 2. It was very savory, spiced so well that the broth almost tasted like steak. The texture of the noodles with all the add ins made it a perfect thing to chew and slurp. My whole meal came out to around $18, which is pretty fair considering I got to take a lot of leftovers!

The place was decent, no music but that doesn't mean it's bad. We had the spicy tonkotsu ramen, black ramen and a baked Alaskan sushi. The spicy ramen was warm but not hot, not enough heat to mix the ramen and its ingredients in the bowl well. It was spicy but the paste didn't blend well in the broth and the mushrooms seemed to overpower the flavor of the broth however, the noodles were good. The sushi was watery, not sticky enough and it tasted microwaved but we ate it anyway. The food came out in good time but the service was ok, not above average or memorable, we also weren't recommended anything. Overall it was an average experience.
