Terrible and will never go back! Took my two teenage granddaughters out for a treat after being quarantined so long. It was new to us but recommended by one on the shop salespersons. Horrible service at cashier! No one else in line and stood there forever with no acknowledgement by any of the many people behind the cash register. Finally, a gruff woman took our order. Gave us part of our order on a tray and a table number. Asked for cups of ice for the canned sodas but had to ask another person for them since she had disappeared. Crab cocktail was shelly and had a tin taste. Returned it to a waiter and he brought a shrimp cocktail instead which was fine. Waiter brought small fish plates which were fine. My granddaughters went and asked the same original cashier to validate our parking ticket which she took a photo with her phone. Of course when we left the parking garage it said there was no validation and we had to pay full fare. We could of had validation from one of several shops in which we made purchases but they said only one validation...
Read moreOrder at the counter and get what they have handy, or they bring it out to you a while later. Nobody is coming to your table to take your order here. There are lots of options for fish tacos, fish burritos, and fish platters. The side dishes were all pretty good, too. The Bear Flag Burrito is great if you're hungry, and the tacos are great if you want a little bit lighter fare and variety. Beer selection is okay and probably fits the beach fine. I didn't really look at the wine, but they had several red and white options. There's a good amount of seating outside, but tables also fill up fast. There is some bar seating as well. There are fire tables, but I didn't see any fire going when I was there this time. It's right next to the Pacific Coast Highway, so there were some motorcycles that went by and roared on their pipes, sometimes for a stretch at a time, which interrupted conversations. View of the beach and water is nice, with a light breeze able to...
Read moreFirst off, the staff is amazing, helpful, even when they are getting slammed by a bus load of customers (it will get busy).
Why does it get busy, bc everything I have ordered is amazing and fresh.
Make sure you try their house soup, it's the best fish soup I've had in a long time, and it's not fishy tasting (according to my friends).
It's true what people are saying about their poke. I was a skeptic at first, and it's not like the poke in Kauai, where you wait for the fisherman to deliver the days catch, but it's as fresh as you'll get for around these parts.
I live close by and get my food to go, so this part I can see getting some customers upset. It seems to be first come, first serve, for the eating area; I can be wrong, but it seems to be one of those places. However, if you're lucky and sit at the bar, it's full service restaurant style. The views are of the blue Pacific and all the tourist that...
