Donut Derelicts — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

This is an early morning gathering. Luckily there is a great donut shop with plenty of good coffee on hand.

Every week the place starts filling up with some of the coolest classic cars in So. CAL.

EVERYTHING you can imagine in all stages from works in progress to pristine show cars come in the driveway starting at about 5am. I got there at 5am last time, sat at a table outside the donut place with my coffee and enjoyed the non stop parade of vehicles from as early as a Ford Model A through a current day Lamborghini. Craving donuts one afternoon, my hubby rolled into this shop. I was immediately excited bouncing around giggling and checking out the merchandise and donuts. Tried to joke around with the woman behind the counter, she wasn't having it. Got this insane yummy Peanut Butter donut that probably weighed a full pound! Delicious. Bought a super cute beanie, because we love hot rods and are fans of the crew. But I was loath to hand over money to the cashier. She couldn't even spare a smile. Every saturday morning there are all types of car collectors out to show off. Mostly american and post war, but there is all kinds of everything there. All of them drive under their own power, and one of my favorite things to do was to watch the hot rods take off. If it is sunny out the night before / that morning there will be more cars. Better than a "car show" as the owners are usually around and friendly, and love to talk...
