I used to frequent this location from my office on weekends and random weekdays for years. The staff was always courteous and accommodating. The female manager was also super nice finding time between doing Starbucks corporate stuff with staff and being behind the counter with her crew servicing customers in the trenches. Major respect.
However all this falls short of one woke feminine Hispanic guy who must have recently been promoted or just maybe I my appearance isn't woke enough, took it upon himself to flex Starbucks' new policies that went into effect January 2025 which includes mandatory purchases to even receive anything including water or ice.
I'm a capitalist and own my own business and can understand how some locations could be overrun with abuse on hospitality and complementary.. However, I've been going to this location for 15 years and spent hundreds of dollars monthly there. Further there are days I bring my own beverage and then LATER "switch out" to a Starbucks drink. The staff is well aware I have done this. And I had even received the female manager's blessing after telling her my processes in casual conversation.
Yet a week ago for no reason and without being provoked, when requesting water to use on an herbal tea mix I wanted to try I got off Amazon and would most likely switch to cold coffee later as I went here to do work on my computer for hours, this Hispanic kid basically told me if I wasn't a customer "right then" not only could he not give any water, but I wasn't welcomed in the lobby and asked me to leave.
I know a lot of review sites and customers leave details out and make things seemingly one sided. I get it. But judging by the length of this review, it's a fair assessment to assume I am very detailed. That's what happened when I asked for hot water and he refused to accommodate. And then the asking me to leave part?
Let me set up the lobby for you; this is one of the few lobbies left at a Starbucks that have charging plugs available. It gets filled with locals, there's a few schools down the street, so there are lots of students at peak times, and then there's the computer workers like me. I have witnessed many times people sitting in the lobby not ordering anything charging or working and being left alone. But this kid singles me out even when he himself has put in numerous orders from me?
I don't cause problems, ultra clean, and hate seeing footage of "Karens" or "Shaniquas" causing problems for no reason.
But this kid acted like the opposite, when you run into a Karen or Shaniqua that's an employee and not a customer.
I basically told him I will never return. It was un-called for. It at least should be enough to demote him.
When going to any cafe to work and chill, always come prepared. Because cafes in 2025 are no longer a place to let your guard down and express brand loyalty. Because their employees might be Cherry...
Read moreStopped at this Starbucks on my way to Huntington Beach. Love it! Not only was the staff friendly and welcoming, the coffee was also really tasty. Thanks for the caffeine kick and making my day better.
Like many people across the world, I like to start my day with a cup of coffee. Ordered a Venti Coffee Frappe with extra triple shots of Espresso, double scoops of Matcha Powder, lots of whipped cream and extra ice. So glad my coffee was accurate and spot on. It tasted perfectly smooth and delicious as expected.
This fairly new place seemed a lot busier than most. Drive thru service was absolutely on the edge of being overwhelmed on a Friday morning. Yes, lines get very long so do expect a wait here.
There are indoor/outdoor seating available. Nice atmosphere, definitely a great local spot to study or to hang with friends.
Whether you're in the mood for something iced, hot, or on-the-go, there's something caffeinated for everyone;). I had a pleasant visit and will be stopping here again when I'm...
Read moreI want to start by saying the staff at this location are always very nice, I have never had someone be rude in any way. My review is not based on their service, it is solely based on the product.
The drink I get is now $6.75 for a grande as Starbucks raised their prices. I did not used to say anything if my drink did not taste how it’s supposed to, but now it’s just a tad bit frustrating to say the least as I’m throwing money away. When you sell something the flavor should not change. You use the same ingredients day after day and the drink should taste the same, yet it tastes different every time. The inconsistency has made it so I don’t even want to go, as I just get disappointed when my drink taste like I’m drinking pure syrup.
I was refunded for my drink, but sadly won’t...
