Me and my family have been coming to this restaurant for +25 years. There has been different owners over the years, they know our family but two days ago was the final straw for us. We had bad costumer service and the food was terrible. Bad costumer service because the waitress did not check on us, she had a bad attitude about everything, and she seemed offended when I told her about my food. I'm not a picky eater so there was definitely something wrong with my food. For starters we had wanton soup, my soup was tasteless bland broth, and had no flavor so we told the waitress, so she took it back and brought it back 15 min' later for it to taste the same. I didn't want to seem difficult so I just asked for soy sauce she said she would bring it and it took her awhile so I set the soup aside and she only brought out the soy sauce when she was serving our main course. She asked if there was still a problem and I said I had set it aside for soy sauce so I can fix it myself. To make matters worse I was eating my main course and I bit into the chicken and it was slimy raw meat. I almost gagged. We notified the waitress, she seemed upset so I just canceled my order completely. My mom had ordered fried rice on the side but the waitress also brought us white rice which the waitress was trying to force us to pay for rice we didn't touch nor ordered. She said it was the cook or owner who wanted us to pay because she took my plate off the bill. We refused to pay for the rice we didn't order. It seemed like they didn't care to have us as costumers anymore because they didn't even offer us anymore food for the raw meat or mistake they had made in my order. I would also like to conclude that they are very discriminatory as well I've noticed. They serve white people faster than POC, just from what I've seen in the last few years. I have another story about this place and topic but it will take awhile. Be careful with this place. Hopefully new nicer owners take over because my family and I enjoyed this...
Read moreWe had a craving for Thai food and wanted to get our fix in over the weekend. My go to has been another Thai restaurant close-by, but they are closed on Sundays. Hoping to try something new in the area and after the yelp reviews, this definitely was worth a shot.
I ordered: pad thai chicken, pad thai veggies (extra egg and peanuts on both), panang curry with veggies and the tom kha soup with chicken. This definitely seemed like enough for 3 people. It came out to roughly $37 altogether. Not bad.
PAD THAI: the pad thai wasn't horrible, it wasn't great and it definitely didn't have any spice. The veggie one had bok choy, some green onions and bean sprouts..while the chicken one seemed to be really sad with not too many chicken pieces and green onions. Both definitely had the extra peanuts, but didn't see much "extra egg" in either dish.
PANANG CURRY: the curry was good, this definitely had a heaping of veggies and I preferred this over the pad thai - even though I'm a carnivore. I do wish they would kick up the spice level on this, or offer a spice level for your food. It was yum in flavor, but didn't pack a punch. So if you prefer a mild curry, this is a good option.
While I didn't try the soup, I was told it was good, not great. But when you're hangry, you just inhale food.
So why the low stars?
Well, I thought the portions were a little small compared to other places I've ordered from. I also think if you're going to give me take-out containers for curry, either find container to fit the portion size, or fill up the container. Don't fill it up just shy of 75% of the container.
I also prefer my food spicy and like the option of making things spicy to my liking. I know that biased and totally my opinion, but you're reading my review, right?? :)
I just wasn't sold on the place compared to some of the other Thai restaurants...
