Tried to eat at Woody's today, but walked out before even sitting down due to poor customer service. My wife and I drove to Huntington Beach today from Murrieta to treat our daughter to a cotton candy character at polar playground for her birthday. I spotted Woody's around the corner and thought it would be a nice place for lunch after our treat, especially because it was a short walk without having to pack our 5 kids and stroller into the van and drive somewhere. Upon walking up my wife wasn't sure if they were even open because there wasn't a single car in the parking lot and the outdoor patio was empty. I assured her they were open and we walked to the door, past the sign that says "seat yourself". Once inside the empty indoor dining area we sat our older kids in a booth and were getting ready to sit in a table just across the way with our two babies. The waitress/hostess came around the corner and informed us we could not have our stroller where it was because it was blocking the walkway to the restrooms (even though it was not in the way of the walkway). We said we understood and that after we get the babies in high chairs we would put the stroller in a small corner in front of a booth. She then told us we couldn't put it there either because it would be blocking that booth and suggested we could leave it outside. She didn't want us to block a table in an EMPTY restaurant. I was not going to leave our expensive double stroller and childrens tablets outside of a restaurant on the corner of Warner/Beach boulevard, so we walked out. I planned on leaving a good review on polar playground and mention the nice diner around the corner for a good meal before or after a sweet treat as well as telling friends/family about our day trip.. Instead I am leaving this review about a restaurant giving a family of 6 a hard time because we had a stroller and suggesting that others choose to go to wahoo's fish tacos right next door or any other restaurant in the vicinity. I still can't believe that a restaurant would be more concerned about people that AREN'T there than they are about a family of 6 who are getting seated and ready to be paying customers. Read moreI used to be a regular here when I was a little girl, my dad owned a custom car shop around the corner for years and this was my favorite restaurant. We came here all of the time. This was my first time back in over 20 years, since I moved to San Diego. Highly disappointing and not the place I remembered and I was so looking forward to coming here with my boyfriend and showing him this great place. The biggest issue was the service. It took almost 15 minutes to get menus and drinks. We even moved tables because we figured we were too far away from the front. The two waitresses refused to ever look at our table, the younger one who took our drink orders never came back to give us drinks or menus. We were never checked on, never asked how things were, no friendly faces at all. Everything was so slow and we had to ask for everything, sometimes multiple times to different people. But the check came super fast and that younger, pink shirt waitress was real quick to snatch up the check and slap it back down without so much of a glance at us. Awesome, I guess some things are better left in the past, disappointed that my opinion of this place is now a negative one. Maybe I'll come back in another 20 years and see if things change. Read morefirst of all there are alot of places where u can the same service and more very well trained environment!! this is unreal! the last visit I had was miserable and I was not please!!!! the managers was sorting out my issue when another person (female) stood by her and say this to me " you're always doing the same thing and we're not helping u with your issue" and than she said this " last time u were here you're always complaining" with a tone voice! she was unprofessional and also I wasn't complaining first of all and secondly let the manager do her job!! the problem was that apparently they forgot to give me my fries aka potatoes 🥔 because I ordered it through the phone and they heard me saying 6 times I didn't want them and I don't recall saying that lol but at the end of the day the manager came outside toke a photo of my plates and than she said this to me ( next time just come inside the restaurant or make the order here) and I was like okkkkay ??? they could've just gave me the fries and that's it!!!!! and I don't know why or if it's allow for them to take photos of my car lmao!!! and also the food was not that warm very poor quality of food service and customer service as well!!
