They sold me an suv. My father is dying of cancer, we hoped it would be a nice experience, we were wrong. The dealer Juan, who works more than the manager. First day my father & I went, while he was in the bathroom, I explained his cancer and our need to speed it up. Juan proceeded to talk raiders football, my dad’s a fan, then usc football. He really didn’t have time for chit-chat. Cancer aside he wants to be the dad, provider and protector. When he left he didn’t make it home without an awful incident in his car.
My mom drove from Long Beach to pick me up, they didn’t want to accept our preferred forms of payment. I had an extremely important funeral the next day, so we went the minute they opened, about 5 other customers showed up at the same time,so they had to wait. It was about an hour after they opened & the manager still wasn’t in! Juan seemed overwhelmed by the customers waiting & wanted to rush now that it was important to him. We brought a cashiers check The total of the vehicle was one price plus $1000 charge for a gps. I told him to remove it I dont need it. He said it’s doesn’t come off- it’s illegal in California to Charge extra for add-ons that are a permanent part of the vehicle. After speaking to his boss the price now dropped $1000 only because I knew the law, not good business if u ask me. I still can’t figure out what gps is on the car because he was bothered he had to lower the price and wouldn’t give me any information on it. Concluding the paper work, we left and we went straight to the gas station since the car was on empty. Most dealers wash the car and fill the tank, they did neither. I arrived at the funeral late but made it. While there I got a call from my mother frantic because somehow the bank forgot to sign the cashiers check & we had no clue. Juan called my parents even though the car is 100% in my name and told them on a Saturday we needed to return the car and they would bring it to us Monday and meet us at the bank
With a minimal amount of research in less then a minute I had the legal information regarding the situation
They chose to accept a cashiers check on a weekend when they couldn’t verify the validity. The dealer didn’t take the time to see if it was signed. We have gotten cashiers checks from the bank before. It’s a printout and we never thought the bank would make such an error. What I found was, since we gave them the cashiers check in good faith, we had no nefarious intentions, they had all our personal info & home address. Legally we needed to contact them & advise that we would meet first thing Monday morning at the bank. The manager told me he would call the car in stolen. In that case he would be hearing from my lawyer. He transferred me to Juan who apologized, admitted it was his fault for accepting the cashiers check on a weekend and not checking for the signature. He said as long as we promise to meet him at our bank Monday morning for the check signature then I was correct and we didn’t have to take the vehicle back. But this entire back and forth on the phone kept my dying father from being able to lay down to rest and me away from an important funeral. We met them Monday morning and it was all taken care of.
I hate that is so hard to find anyone in this world...
Read moreI have bought 5 cars in my lifetime. I have gone thru 4 major dealers, and carmax (the latter being my worst experience). I never thought I would get a car at a third party dealer that wasn't a chain. The reviews were promising and the car my wife and I were looking at was within our budget. Overall, 10/5 stars!
Car buying is stressful. You have to sit for hours, negotiate like no other, and basically pray at the end you didn't get screwed. Nick was different. I have to say, the reviews were nice, but I was still skeptical. I arrived on time for my appointment and Nick showed me the car. A 2013 Honda CR-V LX with less than 50k miles on it. We were looking at upgrading from our 2018 Impreza since it was a lease, and it was super cramped. With 1 child now, and another one coming with 2 dogs, it was time for something bigger that wasn't a van. We looked at the option of trading in, but for the first time in my car buying history, the rep didn't want to do it, even with negative equity attached to the loan. He knew money was tight and he wanted to make sure I didn't go underwater with the loan to keep my payment manageable. He said it's better to just turn it in at the end of the lease which is in 3 months or $1050 in payments compared to the negative $3000 we'd be paying. He also said we can wait to buy a car until then, but wife needed a car now so went thru with it.
As far as financing, my credit is shot. Below 650 and just bought a house, I wasn't looking good. Wife is 770, but she is about to have a baby so no income and I bring in around $7k a month. Luckily, Nick was able to work with us and even though it took a while, he got us a smoking rate! Finally, my wife wasn't with me since she was tired from the baby, but I told Nick I can come by tomorrow to finish the docs. Instead, he said he would hand deliver the car to our home in chino hills, and he would bring the documents so she can sign them there! That way she can rest and just do everything in the comfort of our home! He came on time, super professional, and even had fun talking with our son.
All in all, I got there at 2:45 and was off the lot at 5:15. He arrived at 8 PM and we were done at 8:15. Not only was it fast, but I never felt pressured, I never felt lied too, and Nick was a human being first instead of a salesman. This is huge for me as coming from Sales myself of over 10 years, I can tell you that is one reasons car buying is so uncomfortable. It's the fact that we don't feel heard, we don't feel needed, and we feel disposable. Nick treated me like he was selling a car to his long time friend of over 10 years, and not only got us a deal, but made us super happy and comfortable with the purchase! I will from now on go to Nick first for whenever I need a car, and will be sending everyone to him who need cars....
Read moreOutstanding service. I contacted the company on Saturday and he got back to me on Sunday. I was pretty pissed at all the dealerships with those salesmen that say "I have to speak with my manager" when you don't want to buy their overpriced car. That happened to my mom and I maybe like 5 times, last night I walked out of a dealership after they didn't have their keys (for a test drive). I was so disappointed with their lack of organization and how they just want to make a profit off of their customers, or should I say victims. Extremely fed up, I went on car guru and started checking certain boxes in the 'filter' box. This car my mom bought from Carster fit the requirements perfectly! I went on carguru on Saturday, and he gets back to me the next day (Sunday). I don't know a lot of car dealerships that do that. Anyway, the car isn't for me, it's for my mom. She is so picky about her cars, sometimes unrealistic. We have been trying to find a good priced Hyundai, clean, non-salvaged with fairly low miles. The car she bought met all these requirements, it actually surpassed everything she asked for. I get to have her new car and she gets a very good deal, it is a win win situation. I'll come back here when I decide to buy a new car for myself! Happy customer... Buy your car...
